Happy Birthday Thread!

That's a good idea.

What should the award look like? A calendar? A birthday cake with a lot of candles on it?

Birthday cake with one flagstick-looking candle that's got a flame? Something definitely with a birthday cake though, but then how to make it clear that it's shooting age, rather than just your birthday?

Happy birthday, @kolbe, @Mintzie, @OB1977, @Overworkedundergolfed, @windlaker!  Various generations of golfers represented from age 20 to 72, from those who entered their age. All of you have been on the site within the past couple years- hope all is well and that you're golfing- especially one of you who is apparently overworked.

Ah that's kind of a nifty idea.

I was messing around with Sam Snead's straw fedora last night, but couldn't find a simple enough version that I could easily turn into a graphic like the other awards. Snead supposedly shot his age like a billion times… give or take one or two million.

I'll mess around with that idea later.

Thanks Erik

6 Years old today on my second life. When you get a bone marrow transplant the nurses tell you that you now have a new birthday. I've gone with that and that's when my B'day is celebrated... My new Birthday Feb. 2, 2011

It is true though that I'm 59 (my old birthday was in December 1957).

The big 3-0, @onthehunt526! Happy Birthday. Ah, to be young again. (you're probably thinking the opposite)

Also, happy birthday to @BigRob, @andymowz, and @frankie, who haven't contributed much in discussions, but perhaps this is their big year.

Happy birthday to @Shark9. We don't know your age because you didn't specify the year, but happy B-Day.

Also, happy birthday to @dapper dan morby, @DrawBias, and @Par Fore.

    • Day 3: COVID-19 day 6 and 7 drills again. Then downswing priority piece work with 7-iron, not much, just 10 balls.
    • Day 69, August 2, 2021 More work on shortening my backswing. I don’t want to even get to hands to right shoulder… at least feeling like that.
    • I'm sure if you look at about two years ago on this site, I mentioned somewhere that after having my first ever sub-80 round (a nice 77 in a tournament!), I failed to break 90 for I think two months.  These things happen. Can't hit an iron?  What's the longest swing you can make with your PW and hit a good result?  If the answer is a chip, go hit some chips and, after some good ones, expand into pitches.  Similar with pitches into 3/4 shots, etc.   This is very likely something you can work out by going back to what you do well.
    • First range session after another productive session with @iacas.  Working on getting my weight forward and also feel like my front forearm is turning to close the clubface.  Did work with my 6I, Driver, 3W, and 4H and hit all clubs really well with ball flights that overall I wasn't unhappy with.  Playing tomorrow and Wednesday so we'll see how we do.
