Just a few short weeks till we fly out to Orlando for 14 days . As previous are going to play a few rounds here and there and thank everyone for their past recommendations . Have decided on Falcons Fire , Panther lake /Crooked Cat  , The mickey Mouse course , and  Celebration . Might squeeze another in , will probably do the Disney walking 9 one evening . On that note what time does it get dark in October?

My cousin lives 3 miles from Ballybunion.  I played there in 2008 and am itching for a return.  I remember buying 500 dollars worth of Goretex rain gear and gloves and I found 79 degrees with sun and not a lick of rain on the course!  What a memory! As a single they paired me up with a father/son and the sons best friend.  His friend was a low level tour player in England and played the tips.  I played up that day because I shot an 82 to his 69 but it was so damn inspiring seeing someone control that course! What memories.

I went to Ireland in a few years ago and played Ballybinion and loved it! My caddie was kind of a dick but the course was beautiful, the weather great and playing golf in 🇮🇪 Was a bucket list thing. I’d love to play it again.

Kiva Dunes, Gulf Shores Alabama. Technically it’s a family vacation but all the guys golf so we will play Kiva and maybe one other course.

Kiva is fantastic also Craft Farms, Pensinsula, Lost Key, Perdido Bag area courses. But Kiva is the most beautiful

It was nice for sure. We had some major winds that were brutal but it was pretty cool course.

I am thinking of 2019 as it has turned cold in Michigan. I will be in Las Vegas in January for a trade show. I usual get in a couple of rounds. My wife & I plan to spend February in the Gulf Shores area and hopefully I will get in 6 to 10 games. April will be a golf trip with a buddy for 4 or 5 days and in May/June a trip to Nashville and a few rounds of golf.

I am traveling now. I will be heading east on I-10 tomorrow sometime. Destination is not known as yet. Depends on where my wife wants me to pick her up on her return trip from PA.

All I know is there are plenty of golf courses, RV parks in front of me.

Just to say it was great !  Loved the layout of Falcons fire , disappointed with Disney Magnolia ,  had some fun playing Highlands Reserve a real friendly course and  Celebration was good  . Best course on the tour though was Crooked Cat at Orange County National .

Heading to Pinehurst with a buddy 2 weeks from Thursday for a long weekend. Playing Talamore, Mid South, and Dormie Club.

The trip came up last minute and wanted to keep it on a budget so skipped out on the Pinehurst resort courses and Tobacco Road for now.

If the schedules work out we might play a round or have a drink with @DaveP043 who helped me narrow my course decisions down and gave me some local knowledge.

And as usual, I'll be going to Pinehurst for Thanksgiving week.  As is NOT usual, hoping to meet a TSTer, and we think it should happen .  After that, I'll be back in Palm Springs in January for a week.

I played Magnolia the Saturday before Labor Day, was pretty wet due to all the rain they had. I thought it was OK though. Highlands Reserve is a fun track, I agree. Its been quite some time since I have played it as I moved from the area about 5-6 years ago. Celebration is a nice course, as are both courses at OCN but I've never gotten the good feels from the place for some reason.

My next trip will be Maui, I'm hoping to play at Kapalua before they close down the Plantation course for a renovation. I'm also looking to get onto King Kamehameha too.

Hope that goes well, I love Maui Golf, especially Kapalua.

This is My favorite thread, watching the Australian Open this week and in just over a month we have a round at The Lakes in Sydney secured. We are doing a cruise and bringing our clubs so here’s a quick rundown. 2nd port is Melbourne and we haven’t yet booked a tee time but plan to. Next 2 stops are small Islands but both have 9 hole courses we are likely to play. Then off to New Zealand

Here we start at Clearwater GC, Christchurch, then  Kaikora GC followed by either Paraparaumu GC or Wainuiomata GC, have a game booked in Rotorua, and we end with a round at Titirangi GC, Auckland.

Please let me know if you’ve played any of these. It’s just my wife and I and we look forward to peaceful Holidays.

Aloha,

iSank

    • Did they blue screen in that golf course? Something just seems off to me. At first, I thought it looked like a really good video game cut scene.  I think they look very hi definition, and the background looks less so.  The physics of the golf ball look off. You can see the golf ball just start to plummet out of the air right after he hits it.
    • I had the chance to play Southern Pines this weekend...it's REALLY good.  A solid 8/10.
    • Played Umstead with my brother again today.  I shot 40-42 for a solid 82. The front was consistent, four bogeys and five pars. A par on the par-5 ninth was a bit disappointing since I was on the fringe in two with about a 15-footer for eagle, but it is what it is. On the back I made two doubles on 15 (jail on approach shot) and 16 (drive hooked OB) but otherwise solid: five pars and two bogeys. So I was able to keep huge numbers off the card for the most part. It was a fun day. My brother also reached a milestone today: he went 46-43 for 89 and broke 90 for the first time! He only had one really bad hole (tripled 5), and a birdie on 10 jumpstarted him. It was fun to watch! I’m playing Hillandale with a buddy tomorrow morning, so stay tuned!
