I'm new here, but thought I'd claim my awards. I've broken 90 many times (still working on 80) and I've had 3 eagles. Thanks!

You've got them both! Consider adding another award (and getting a great thing in the process) by picking up a copy of LSW. :-)

If the awards are for lifetime achievements, then put me down for a couple of 79s and 1 eagle.

Since joining this site earlier this year, I've only managed a low of 84.

When I first realized that awards were available, I claimed a few, but decided to wait for the Eagle award until I had a "fresh" one.  Well, I made my first eagle of the year this past Saturday, Stoneleigh GC, Par 5 Hole 5, driver-hybrid-putt.

Well done!  (I'm doing the same thing with the eagle and breaking par badges)

You've got them both. They're lifetime awards, yes.

Can I get the TST outing badge for participating in the St Louis outing over the weekend?

if @WUTiger doesn't have it, he should get the one for putting it all together

What are the details? How many people were there, did you post pictures, how many of you knew each other beforehand… etc.?

Stroke Play Championship weekend and Stroke Play usually means "Slow Play". :pound:

It was a grinder with ridiculous pin positions on Saturdays round. In the Men's A-Flight (4-8 handicap) lowest round was a couple of 83's and I was two shots back. I shoot 79 on Sunday and win by two for my second championship at my club.

Here are mine:

  • Broke Par (Also broke 70): Did it in the 90's in my college years. Did it again a few times during 2016 after a lot of years of inactivity.
  • Tournament Winner: 3 Club Championships and the Region Champion of the Season 2000, which gave me the price of compiting in the US at the Publix Junior Championship at The Doral, great experience.
  • Albatros: never made a hole in one but holed in 2 a Par 5 on Playa Grande (Argentina) while playing in a pro-am tournament.

    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
    • I agree with @klineka & @DaveP043 above.  When a new member first joins the club they cold be told that they are not eligible for tournaments until they have an established HCP.  As you said, it only takes a few rounds.  If they do not to post HCP that was their choice and choices have consequences.  If playing in the tournament is important to them then they should step up and establish an HCP.  Maybe they miss the 1st tournament, is that a real big deal?  And if it is a "Big Deal" to them then they had the opportunity to establish the HCP. As for not knowing how to report for HCP I assume your club has a pro and they should be able to assist in getting the scores reported and I suspect out of state courses may also have staff that can assist if asked.

    • Cool here's my tweak, "If a player’s ball lies in the general area and there is interference from exposed tree roots or exposed rocks that are in the fairway or 1 club length from the fairway the tree roots and exposed rocks are treated as ground under repair. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1b.[But relief is not allowed if the tree roots only interfere with the player’s stance.]
