If you buy a VICE golf ball that is meant to be equivalent to the direct competition they are designed to compete against, Vice Pro versus Pro V1, then you are getting a ball that is equivalent. There are no significant differences. I wouldn't say one out performs the other.

That was my experience. I wouldn't say the Vice Pro outperforms the Pro V1, but it behaved exactly as I expected the Pro V1 would, only with more flare ;-)

At nearly half the price, I know what ball I'm buying.

Other than the deep discount for buying 5 boxes, it sounds like the price is about the same as the Snell My Tour Ball. Has anybody compared them?

The Snell MTB is more comparable with the Pro V1x IMO, so that's the Vice Pro Plus which I have not played.

Both are good golf balls and can hang with the big boys. You can't go wrong with either. I was actually going to restock my balls with Snell MTBs until I heard about these, and besides being slightly more expensive than the Vice Pros (you also need to buy 6 dozen MTB as opposed to 5 dozen Vice Pros for the discount), they only come in white.

Everything I read said they are fairly comparable, so I really did choose the Vice Pros because they come in pink.

They are, you might need to change the location to UK.

a dozen Pro balls works out at £29 I believe. The more you buy the cheaper they get. I got 5 dozen for £107.

I also wanted a ball nobody would pick up on the course, accidentally or on purpose. Turns out they are easy to spot on the course, too.

Except for all the elderly ladies :-P

You could use that ball for putt putt and I don't think they would even realize that it's not a cheap ball

Funny you mention this, I lost my tee shot on one of the holes I played and sometime later, the woman playing behind me asks, "is this your ball?" and proceeds to give me the ball I lost.

It'd be great for the soft feel on the putter, yes. But when I hole out on 18 I want my ball back :-D

I am playing the 3-piece Pro Neon balls.

These fly farther than my usual 2-piece "soft" ball choices. I don't think they spin/stick as much as the ChromeSoft or ProV.

If you order 5 dozen, then the price per dozen drops to 24.95. Compared to other tour ball options, it's a good deal. However, I question durability after landing on a rocky cart path the other day and discovering a little chunk of ball missing. Like peeling a hard-boiled egg - a little shell and a little meat. Never seen that before.

It's a cool product. Targets a younger market niche. And, when's the last time you bought something from Munich?

I had the exact same thing happen with a white colored Pro. I too have never seen a ball do that.

I bought 2 five dozen packs.   Both Vice Pro, half in white and half in pink.   I really like them.  I give the edge to the Snell ball for feel and short game.  But these are good balls, no doubt.

They stop nice on the greens.   I like to use the pink balls when playing with other people.  Nothing like driving a par 4 with a pink balls, or hitting a par 5 in 2.   It's the same ball as the regular Pro ball.

I also feel like the durability is a little bit of an issue.  I've hit a couple of sand shots and feel it dinged the ball a bit.   But they do live up to the slogan of a tour quality ball.   I'd play it in my club championship.

I just got some of the Vice Pro+  golf balls yesterday, played 18 holes with them.    When I hit the ball in the center of the face of the Driver, it really takes off.  I did hit the Snell and Vice from the same location on a couple of holes with 8 irons and didn't notice much difference on distance traveled.

So far the biggest difference I noticed was in chipping and putting, the Vice balls seemed to check up a little quicker and they have a different sound when putting.  It felt like I needed to hit the Vice just a hair harder to go the same distance, although that could be because the Snell makes a louder sound off the putter face.

I'll be playing them all weekend and see how it goes.  But at first blush, seems like a good ball.

The only gripe is that they come from Germany, so took a while to get to US.

All balls with a urethane cover can peel off. Used to happen I played Pro V1s too.

Don't worry, I usually carry about a dozen of them in my bag.

*Most people don't say anything after I outdrive them 30 yards on the 1st hole ;-)

*That's not entirely true. They usually say, "Good thing your ball is pink, it will be easier to find in the woods."

    • First off please forgive me if this is not a proper post or not in the proper location, still learning the ropes around here. Second, it's important that I mention I am very new to the game with only about 10 rounds of golf under my belt, most being 9 holes. Only this year have I started playing 18. That being said, I am hooked, love the game and am very eager to learn and improve. To give you an idea of my skill, the last 2 18 rounds I played were 110 and 105. Not great at all, however I am slowly improving as I learn. Had been having bad slicing issues with the driver and hybrids but after playing some more and hitting the range, I've been able to improve on that quite a bit and have been hitting more straight on average. Irons have always come easier to me as far as hitting straight for some reason. Wedges have needed a lot of improvement, but I practice chipping about 20-30 mins about 3-5 times a week and that's helped a lot. Today I went to the range and started to note down some distance data, mind you I am averaging the distances based off my best guess compared to the distance markers on the range. I do not currently own a range finder or tracker. From reading some similar posts I do understand that filling gaps is ideal, but I am having a some issues figuring out those gaps and understanding which clubs to keep and remove as some gaps are minimal between clubs. Below is an image of the chart I put together showing the clubs and average distances I've been hitting and power applied. For some reason I am hitting my hybrids around the same distances and I am not sure why. Wondering if one of them should be removed. I didn't notice a huge loft difference either. The irons I have are hand me downs from my grandfather and after playing with them a bit, I feel like they're just not giving me what could potentially be there. The feel is a bit hard/harsh and underwhelming if that makes sense and I can't seem to get decent distances from them. Wondering if I should be looking to invest in some more updated irons and if those should be muscle backs or cavity backs? My knowledge here is minimal. I have never played with modern fairway woods, only the classic clubs that are actually wood and much smaller than modern clubs. I recently removed the 4 and 5 woods from my bag as I was never using them and I don't hit them very well or very far. Wondering if I should look into some more modern fairway wood options? I appreciate any feedback or advice anyone is willing to give, please forgive my lack of knowledge. I am eager to learn! Thank you.
    • I would think that 3 in a row with the same players might get some behind the scenes examination from the SCGA if they were suspect.  Are there any clubs questioning the results?
    • What simple fact? A golf match is not a coin flip — there is a fact for you. I'm trying to help you, and you're throwing out what could easily be called sour grapes. Come with FACTS, not weak analogies. Then you've got nothing. Hopefully they've done a better job of making their case. 😛
    • It's pretty close. The odds of a 50/50 shot going your way 21 times are greater than 1 in a million!  I guess your point is, that simple fact is not enough to declare these guys dirty rotten sandbaggers. I disagree, but fair enough. I posted it here on the message board to get different perspectives, after all.  I probably won't be digging further into specific scores. I have no dog in this fight beyond a generalized contempt for sandbagging. With that said, it would not surprise if a lot of clubs shared my concern and were grousing about it to the SCGA.
    • I had an article on Cam Smith pop up along with this..... Current major eligibility list for all LIV Golf players Here's a look at which majors, if any, all LIV Golf players are eligible.
