I was removing some Game Golf tags put on with silicone glue and came up with this solution...

Use the high E string (the skinny one) from a guitar.

My guitar was way over due for a string change so I just removed the high E string.  With that and some leather garden gloves I was able to "garrote" around the edges of the tag and break the bond of the silicone glue.  This worked well and was fast and easy.
