There was a story and interview on Bubba Watson on 60 minutes. It was interesting to note all the phobias Bubba has including fear of crowds.

I thought it was an interesting interview; I don't hate or love Bubba but I have similar hang-ups about crowds and strangers so have some empathy for him.  I have no idea how he can get up in front of crowds and cameras and play golf at his level.

I liked how his caddy responded when asked if Bubba sometimes took his frustration out on him. He said (paraphrasing) "80% of the players on tour do that. You can't be a caddy on the PGA tour and be thin-skinned". He went on to say he was ok with it and it was usually forgotten within a minute or so.

A nice insight to the complex being he is... I'm still not a fan and nor will I be but makes you think there's something off with the guy. Thanks for the link!

Golf digest did an article a while back and they talked with his caddie and others. I don't really care for him but I like him (dislike him less is probably more accurate) better after hearing what they all were saying about him. They did mention his phobias and his ranger father telling him not to trust anyone so you can see where he gets a lot of his standoffish attitude. His caddie said his father was extremely standoffish to him for a very long time.  But everyone close to him says that when you are in you are in and he treats you well and cares for you so that's nice I guess. Still a butthead most of the time

    • This swing is the take away that I refer to as Furick-ing.  I don't know if it is so close to JimFurick take away but it is what I originally discovered and try to emulate a while back.  Clubhead is way out there, not pointing club towards target until you get to top  So when you get to the top, the clubhead has to whoop-de-do or figure eight to the plane of attack, yes ? It is longer on the no.1 club and more exaggerated maybe but this take away has put me on plane and produces consistent and clean contact for me. Oh and the shirt looks just great man.
    • The judge isn’t involved in plea-bargaining. That’s even assuming there are facts to support a felony charge.
    • Jerks get into fights every day. If they all went to prison, you'd need a gray-bar hotel every two blocks. This looks like a fine and some community service at worst.
    • I don’t know the law of the particular jurisdiction, but it would seem that unless particular circumstances exist, like using a deadly weapon, there would be no rise from battery to a felony charge. I haven’t seen any facts to indicate that he brandished a weapon, like a golf club for instance, in the fight.    Therefore, I think this statement is over broad. The burden of proof would fall on the prosecutor to show each element is met. Sure, the prospector can threaten charges, but again, unless there are facts to support a felony charge, of which I’m not aware at present, I don’t think his “hope” is that a lawyer can “get him off.”
    • Off Season, I could care less. You can't post anything for USGA handicap anyways. There is no need to worry about it. This to. Bunkers are not maintained in the off-season. Weather can be sketchy in the off-season.  Honestly, I don't care if courses run tournaments during the season with non-allowed USGA local rules as long as scores are not posted for handicap.
