In the picture my hands look..  far apart, or separated, or not tight..  or something.  Doesn’t feel that way though.

I’d guess there’s an issue there.

Pretty weak. I'd likely strengthen it a bit.

Wait..  what? I went from possibly the most ridiculously strong grip on this site to pretty weak?   This effin game, man.

means I should probably post more.  At some point I’d guess it was right.

anyways..  Left hand or right hand or both is too weak?

Do you by any chance practice your grip without a club in your hands and end up using your left thumb as “the club” under the right hand? Because I know a guy that used to do that and that’s how his hands ended up too far apart from each other.

It would be better to see a full face on so we can see where the V in your right hand is pointing. If it is at your right shoulder, very strong. Mid collar bone, strong, ear, neutral, chin, weak.

Also, get a photo of the bottom to show your interlock or overlap and maybe a side view.

Looks like the left is too strong and the right is too weak.

Try aiming the camera along your toe line for the down the line view. It’s easier to see the positions that way.

Looks good, man. What are you working on now? What's your flight? What's your miss?

have been working on Grip quite a bit.   pretty comfortable with where it is now.   mostly focused on swing speed, currently (superspeed sticks).

--also, chipping and putting.  could use some improvement there, and it's good to work on while stuck at home.

medium trajectory draw with the irons.  Driver is pretty much dead straight.

my miss is rarely a ball flight miss (hook or slice).   I'll pull one every now and then.  or block a driver out to the right.
but, mostly my misses are fat or thin (which I think can't be attributed to the really bad grip I was working with).   hopefully, now that I'm more comfortable with a more neutral grip and more in my fingers, I'll see some improvement there.

Back at it again.

did a bit of work today and was able to video.  Though, given the proximity of they bays at the dome, pretty much impossible to get a face on view.     I’ll try to get one if I can ever get bay #1.

anyways, here’s a 6i DTL.

Just looking back at this thread, and my swing from 5 years ago..  those suggestions from @iacas made quite a bit of sense.

not to say I immediately changed or even followed his suggestions.  But, I’ve gone from a 12 handicap to a 7ish in that time and my swing has clearly changed.    And my swing is at least closer to what was suggested.

changing a golf swing is hard, making changes that make you worse before you get better is even harder.
I wonder if I’ll ever have the mental capacity to allow myself to be a stupid monkey.

Towards the end of the season my swing had grown a bit too far in-to-out and “under the line”   I was playing a pretty exaggerated draw with my irons, predictably causing hooky and fat misses.

I can get it back on track reasonably well by just hitting the range and alternating draws and fades.

then after that, hitting about 20 drivers trying to max out ball speed.  As I work to swing faster, my attack angle tends to flatten out and my launch angle will drop to around 10 degrees.  So, just trying to be mindful of continuing to hit up on the ball while working to increase speed.

I had a few yesterday with 163 ball speed and launch angle of 13, 14 degrees, which I was super happy with.

Thanks.

Were I you I'd put a stick on the ground and feel the hands going back along it instead of "out" and then having to suck "around" so much.

Thank you.    I was thinking that first move out was looking not so appealing.     Thanks for the input.  I’ll get to work.

    • We do not buy extended warranties. We will use one of our credit cards for the purchase that extends the warranty "x 2". Our thoughts are: a. if the item is a lemon, it will likely break right away and we can attempt to apply the original warranty or credit card extension. b. over the long haul, we will probably save more money by not purchasing the extended warranty and fixing/junking broken items out of our own pocket. The important thing is to keep some records of purchases so one may make a claim under the manufacturer's warranty. I recently sent back some Footjoy shoes for leaking and Footjoy did a reat job of making the claim process work very well. I had the original receipt, warrant info and box. Easy peasy.
