They are selling on ebay for a premium price (about double the sticker price).  Maybe I should get in on that, keep a dozen, sell a dozen.

I don't think that's going to work this time around. They had the ball available for much longer this time than before and the ball had already become pretty widespread popular - so people were able to pick them up themselves since it didn't sell out in < 4 hours like it had in the past.

The ones on ebay will likely not sell this time around. They can list them all they want, though.

Ball: Whatever. Something soft. Kirklands Signature are pretty schweeeet at the moment!

You may be right, but there are bids for $50-60 per double dozen and $12-15 for a sleeve.  I'm sure they will sell as not everyone is a Costco member.

Even at $25-30 per dozen they are a inexpensive impulse buy for most non-Costco member Ebay buyer golfers.

And most of the ads I've seen have shipping costs similar to Costco's (normal Costco shipping is $0, but for these balls they are charging $4.25ish per double dozen.).

or is this not a good deal and going out of my way to do too much work because they play and feel like a $35/box Titleist NXT Tour?

The Titleist NXT is overpriced when the TopFlite Gamer is a better ball for much less.

Got the Kirkland specials delivered a couple of days ago, put some into play this morning.

I can absolutely verify that these balls fly the same distance into the woods as a ProV1.

Shanked shots, tops, fatties and pop-ups all behave just as well as any $4 ball.

They held up pretty well hitting a cart path and a direct drive into an oak tree.

They did feel pretty good off the putter.

All in all a good purchase for me.

Played it yesterday.  It's launches very high with the driver compared to other balls and spins a little less than my normal callway soft.  The thing is very soft though feels like a marshmellow off the face.  I tested it on the Gc2 today and noticed on Driver it does launch a few degrees higher and spins around 300 more than the callaway.  On irons it launches higher as well but, spins less.  Not sure what I think about it so far it's almost to soft feeling for me.

Hybrids:  18 Callaway X Hot Pro
Irons: 4-GW Callaway Apex

I don't know about spin but yes, I feel like the launch is higher and definitely agree with the "marshmallow" feel - which is exactly what I want golf balls to feel like! I can't go back! I love the butter soft feel around the greens and off the putter. Yesterday I practiced 10-20 yards chip shots for about an hour and a half with these and I love this feel. Although, I think the ball get grass stains easier than other balls. But meh.

Man, I wish there was a Costco near me, and not just for the golf balls. The closest one is near Cleveland. When I was running a sales route up there I got a card and would occasionally hit the store before heading home. What a store! They, literally, have EVERYTHING!!

For a low $1.50 non-member fee, you can order almost anything online from them.

Yeah, but I like to "shop" the store. Handle the merch, you know. Plus, they have very nice wine selection!

I check almost daily for any news - nothing so far.  I missed getting some by about an hour at the local store last time they came out.  Grrrr.

I have no doubt the K's are a good  ball for the price, but really...are they worth all this?  There are plenty of others at about the same price...Snells, Srixon, TF Gamers.

Why not?  I'm walking down an isle at Costco and if I happen to see them I buy them. No big deal to me.

    • I did not realize that, I was thinking a more traditional golf club.
    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
