That's too bad... As a Canadian without access, I'm making a trip to Palm Springs in the middle of February and I was hoping they would be re-stocked so I can ship it to my California address.  I'll keep checking daily just in-case.

Perhaps you can find a member on TST to send it to you?

oops, never mind, I read your post wrong. You were wanting it there for your visit.

I'm not a member and have placed two orders with Costco for the golf balls.

Yes, and they do not even assess a surcharge of 5% for non members, 10% at Sam's Club. I have not read their business plan and do not know how much membership contributes to their bottom line.  It is not uncommon for retail chains, to offer below market items, even if they only break even/have temporary loss. Walmart does it all the time.

It may or may not be related but since buying a Garmin S2 on line at Costco, I get new emails and offers frequently. Granted, some has to do with browser use as I forget to use private browsing searches, not that doing so has any real effect.

If they didn't then you got one over on them, not sure how though. If you don't have a member # in it automatically pops up. Was like $1.50 lol

Dunno...just checked the invoice. $96.99 plus tax, no shipping charge., Membership number is blank on the invoice.  I seem to recall someone else with the same experience, but cannot find the post. I also thought that in their website it states that they "may" add a non member charge for "certain" items. Perhaps this was one of those items for which no such charge is levied.

The first time I bought them from Costco, they didn't charge a non-member surcharge or tax.  The next time they charged both.

Got a notice on Facebook from mygolfspy that these ball are no longer being made.

Let's speculate on why that may be, even if it may or may not be true? lol.

Maybe Titleist threatened with a lawsuit? I hear they've been bullying ball makers with patent infringement lawsuits. That may or may not be true, though. Just word of mouth.

More likely TaylorMade?

Quote

I mention TaylorMade in particular because the company's tour balls are produced at the same factory as the Costco/Nassau balls, and there are some indications that production of new TP5 has pushed smaller companies to the back of the production line. Even if Costco otherwise had the capability to produce balls immediately, which it appears it doesn’t, the K-Sig wouldn’t be given priority over larger brands and long-term customers.

Also, I agree with this poster:

Stolen R&D - no overhead - no testing - no accountability - no good. Don't forget it's not just about the ball manufacturers. How about the local pro profitting a whopping $5.00 a dozen in hopes he can sell enough to pay for his kids science book at the local community college. Costco & Walmart have crushed a lot of those guys.

Yup.

Why is it bullying? If you violate a patent, you are stealing. I have three patents and my company would challenge anyone who tried to steal my ideas. This is why it's called 'intellectual property'. Sounds more like thieves whining.

Yep. This isn't a patent for something that has prior art or is commonly done (software patents that took advantage of the USPO's lack of understanding of software).

Check Ebay prices...Somebody is selling 2 dozen for $75 and has 9 bids.   That is quite a profit.
