Rory withdraws from Target

ok 1st thing what is shin splits...lol

As I recall from my running days shin splints are casued by a slight tearing of the connecting tissue where the muscles in the shins connect to the bone. I am 56 and walk 36-45 holes every weekend and I don't get 'em.

The last time I had a case of shint splints was when I was 27-28 years old and played about 20 hours of soccer a week. And even then they didn't keep me from playing. Couples was not playing well and clearly was having back trouble at least Wed-Thursday and he hung in there. Rory is a little bi..h! SubPar

As it has been discussed in this thread, as well as others, Rory is just a temperamental, immature, and classless jerk that just happens to have the game to compete on the PGA Tour in most cases. This just adds to his track record.

I think the biggest issue is that he essentially called out Tiger on more than one occasion this year, then turns around and bails on Tiger's tournament without telling the people that needed to know. Maybe he does have shin splints. Only he knows that. More likely he was playing bad and saw that Tiger was starting to roll and didn't want to hear "So, Rorry, do you still think Tiger is more beatable than ever?" at the post round press conference.

Yes i understand you want to go on vacation with your family, but you have an obligation to this tournament and this charity and he was there for one thing, the money. He knew he was going to leave early before he even got to the tournament. Selfish Greedy bastard.

Well, the Golf Channel called Rory on this one.

They were commenting on why Rory would have switched from Nike to Adams in the midst of a stellar run. They were questioning who does that and alluded to the fact that Rory's comments may have led to Nike forcing the issue because of his Tiger comments. Someone even said, "How much power does Tiger really have?" I almost lost it, because everyone knows if Tiger was upset and left Nike, heads would roll and sales would suffer.

Then Kelly T. reported that she talked to Rory and that it was all short answers. "Have you talked to Tiger to resolve this?"..."no"; "Has Tiger tried to contact you?"..."no"; "Have you tried to contact Tiger?"..."no" (or something to that effect). I was cracking up. Then they were telling the story of how he signed an autograph and the lady asked him if he was the Tiger Woods fan club president. Nick Faldo said, "He is getting some strong medicine." Well said Nick.

I was just wondering if Titleist suffered in their sales after Tiger switched to Nike, they didn't make that big of a deal out of it when he switched back then, do you guys think that Titleist lost sales though? I don't think it would suffer as much as everyone thinks, its a major brand and there are a lot of pros that use them.

Yeah, I remember the article about how Sabby was just misunderstood how he was good for the game I believe he was even endorsed by Davis Love. The article looked like a damage control piece put on by his sponsor nike. Looks like they can do all the damage control they want but his foghorn leghorn impression is always going to come out.

I would have to agree. Anybody dumb enough to go after tiger the way he did couldnt have much going on between their ears.

Just wondering however, when did Rory go to Adams Golf? If any of you noticed, he was wearing an adams golf visor on thursday at kapalua. anybody know when he switched?

You have a point about Titleist, but don't you think that Tiger put Nike Golf on the map? I think he is a huge draw for them, but it may only be a few drops out of Titleist's bucket. Ok, maybe a few out of Taylor Made's too. Oh, and Tiger still uses a Titleist putter. I am not sure what you mean by "switched back", he is with Nike. If he did go back to Titleist, it would be there campaign.

I think the guy needs a new name, like rory blabitini.as far as appearance his resembles a tennis match trophy as his ears being the handles....just an opinion.

yeah i read tiger's book called how i play golf and there was a period of like 6 years(correct if wrong) where he was using mostly titleist stuff. on another note did nike give sabbatini the biff because he no longer wears a nike cap?

Rory Sabatini sounded genuinely humble and confident in his after-round interview at the Sony Open today (final round). I like to hear that from him.

Sabatini has come to the end with his Nike sponsorship . For what ever reasons ... ( Tiger being #1 endorser) Nike had to let him go . Adams and some Manufacturers have shown interest in him and come Feb this year he will wear and play for his sponsors . He looks like a nice kid off the golf course . kind and helpful to old people . Perhaps age will smoothen him a bit . Such talent wont go to waste too soon . Golf needs vilains and he is the perfect golfer for that role . And so the golfing drama continues ...
