one of the problem aras of my game scorewise. I have always gone with the 'modified putting stroke' method with a 9iron (the wedge always checkes up 10 feet short). Chili-dips happen and lately I have been giving the putter a fair chance, especially late in the round. It seems that a shot 40 ft has much more touch with the pingzing2 and they die closer than the punch type chip (seems to leave me the dreaded 3-4 footer a lot). I don't know, it's a struggle with the NGIR and ends up a lotta 5s.
The vast majority of time I'd rather putt.
Over the years, I've putted a lot of balls from the fringe and normally have a pretty good idea how firm a putt I need to get it there. That familiarity makes for a more reliable shot then anything I'd be doing with a chip. Only some real crazy stuff between the ball and the green would have me do otherwise.
