Not sure what I am doing wrong, but the last couple times I have replied to this topic, my previous posts have been waiting for me to send. I will try it one more time.

Day 7; exercise day for my dogs and I. We went to the dry lake where the dogs could run freely, and I could walk with them, and practice hitting my 6i Hogan Apex off the thin lies the lake bed has to offer. Idea is to catch the ball first, then the dirt, in front of the ball, with my hands leading the club head through impact. Anything hit even remotely fat, and I know it right away.

I always aim at something every time I hit the ball. Even in practice. Targets on the dry lake are areas between any two bushes I deem appropriate. This also  allows me to work on my stance, and alignment.

12/07 - range session. Focus was on steady head and balanced weight shift. Hit well, drove pretty well. Probably would've putted the crap today if I had played :-P

20 min alt Sklz and driver. With Sklz, I can feel the top of the back swing and start the lower body uncoil and drag the arms and trainer thru the swing zone. I can even forget about the wrist action as the trainer snaps threw. Unfortunately, it's not always a controled swing and does not always follow inside out path.

with the driver, it's harder to feel the top of the back swing and turn of lower body. Club comes threw swing area largely with arms and sometimes very little body.

Tomorrow is a holiday here, maybe I'll have more time to work on the swing

Was going to go downtown to work with some guys on their putting, but the weather's not great so we're staying home.

So… I worked on my putting using the http://perfectstroke.org in my finished basement while watching Bryson DeChambeau cheat at the Shark Shootout. ;-)

Set up my net and hit about 30 balls I reckon. Focusing on still head and good take away. Putting practice doing Mickelson's Putting circle @ 4ft and 6ft. Goal is to get 60% at 6ft. That is so hard to do, I use ten balls and only two are straight. The rest break a little to a lot. I love this putting drill. It feels real , just like a putt for par on the course.

Day 8; went to the short game practice area today. Spent about 20 minutes working on my bunker game, hitting balls to a pin about 10 yards away. Obviously the plan was to get the ball as close to the pin as possible. Used different areas of the bunker to hit from. Also worked on my raking technique. :-P

After that, using the same pin, I moved out of the bunker, and worked on flopping balls over the bunker. Focus here was to mentally get over the hazard being in my way, to get to the pin. Also working on my flop shot swing. Spent about 10 minutes there.

After that was just some simple putting practice for another 10 minutes. Alignment, and messing around with a ancient grip were the focus.

A few days late but here's what I checked off tonight...

- Hit around 25-30 balls into the NetReturn tonight - 7 iron (full), Gap Wedge (full and 1/2), 58* (1/4), 3 wood.

- Went into the house and took around 20 swings with the iron length Orange Whip then worked on some slow motion and 50% speed swings with my driver.

- Next went on to putting.  Rolled around 20 putts to a 4 foot target then around 10-15 putts to a 20 foot target.

That's it.  Just trying to stay loose since it's a bit too cold to hit the range outdoors right now.  Hopefully it warms up tomorrow so I can get out and hit a bucket of balls.

Playe 9 holes with my son in law this morning. Played pretty well with a 39, with 14 putts. Never used my driver because I just never felt "loose enough" to swing it due to the chilly temps. Just went with what I had swing wise. Really happy I switched to the left hand low putting grip. Then again, perhaps it was my old "Rail Gun" putter I took out of moth balls for nostalgia reasons.

    • Day 106 - Worked on chipping/pitching. Focus was feeling the club fall to the ground as my body rotated through.
    • Honestly, unless there's something about that rough there that makes it abnormally penal or a lost ball likely, this might be the play. I don't know how the mystrategy cone works, but per LSW, you don't use every shot for your shot zones. In that scatter plot, you have no balls in the bunker, and 1 in the penalty area. The median outcome seems to be a 50 yard pitch. Even if you aren't great from 50 yards, you're better off there than in a fairway bunker or the penalty area on the right of the fairway. It could also be a strategy you keep in your back pocket if you need to make up ground. Maybe this is a higher average score with driver, but better chance at a birdie. Maybe you are hitting your driver well and feel comfortable with letting one rip.  I get not wanting to wait and not wanting to endanger people on the tee, but in a tournament, I think I value playing for score more than waiting. I don't value that over hurting people, but you can always yell fore 😆 Only thing I would say is I'm not sure whether that cone is the best representation of the strategy (see my comment above about LSW's shot zones). To me, it looks like a 4 iron where you're aiming closer to the bunker might be the play. You have a lot of shots out to the right and only a few to the left. Obviously, I don't know where you are aiming (and this is a limitation of MyStrategy), but it seems like most of your 4 iron shots are right. You have 2 in the bunker but aiming a bit closer to the bunker won't bring more of your shots into the bunker. It does bring a few away from the penalty area on the right.  This could also depend on how severe the penalties are for missing the green. Do you need to be closer to avoid issues around the green?  It's not a bad strategy to hit 6 iron off the tee, be in the fairway, and have 150ish in. I'm probably overthinking this.
    • Day 283: Putted on my mat for a while watching an NLU video. Worked on keeping my head still primarily, and then making sure my bead is okay.
    • I do not follow amateur or Korn Ferry tour but this story might get me to pay attention. At age 15 to be as accomplished as he is makes me think we may be seeing a future star.  A story of him breaking out may help reinvigorate golf viewership. Miles Russell has a hot start, cools off but finishes with a 68 in first Korn Ferry event Miles Russell, a 15-year-old Jacksonville Beach resident, made his Korn Ferry Tour debut on...
    • Day 8: Indoor backswing work, mostly rehearsals of takeaway. Hit some balls wtih 6-iron working on adding flow, but not too Much which I tend to do, swaying too far away from target.
