@DeadMan did you sort out your net issues?

It's been a busy week for me, so I haven't had a chance to play around with my net and the Mevo. I will find time by this Saturday to work through it better.

Let me know how it goes. I'm going to use mine with a net most of the time so I'm curious to see if I'll have the same issues. Might not be able to play around with it for a while, though.

So we've gone from posting 120 fps to higher quality 240 fps, now eventually vids with swing data/numbers. Pretty cool to be part of the evolution in technology. It's hard to tell because we're in it, but imho, we're part of a inflection point maybe? Practicing now is a lot less guesswork.

This is my first attempt with it, the space is new to me as well so still trying to figure out logistics, where to place stuff as stall is cramped. Setup was easy, created the account and logged in and connected to it no problems at home. Put the Mevo on a little table top tripod as the ball is atop a mat, so tripod thread very handy. Still not handy with the interface yet, clumsy getting around screens and settings, but had no problems getting it to read almost every shot. Thinned one and it gave incomplete data. Put the dots on, three were more than enough, 3 dots, three balls, threw them out later, will have to buy dots eventually. It saves the video to a separate folder, and didn't trim them as tightly as I would, need to figure out the delay and trigger sliders, the delay slider was not moveable. You can't trim and save to the original video, so you'll need enough space to store your vids. There's no sound on the video, dunno why that is, probably screwed up a setting.

This is a soft 5I swing, working on one piece - hands in clubhead out - from instructor, so not swinging hard. Without the Mevo, would have thought this was fat, but the smash factor is ok I think. It's a little low, the height, but that's expected for a slower swing. Launch is higher than average in the PGA Tour Trackman table, but not hitting it that hard. Spin, it's lower than the average in the Trackman table, because again, low CHS. Smash factor is a number I undervalued, gives you a good idea of quality of strike.

Will install app on older smartphone (there's still no tablet app yet and you can't install smartphone version on tablet) and connect the Mevo to that next time and use the primary smartphone exclusively as a camera, prefer to have better control over the camera/video editing and hopefully don't have to touch the Mevo smartphone, just glance at it.

Couldn't do much, only had 40 minutes, but happy to have less guesswork hitting into a net. Really looking forward to using it for wedges and short game.

P.S. What will really be cool is when I tinker around with swing pieces, for example let's say what happens if I swing the arms faster, how the numbers differ. Combined with ball flight when using outside, more complete information.

@nevets88 is that swing the video produced from the Mevo app? If so, what's wrong with it?

Yes. Nothing. I mean technically, it shows 19 seconds on my camera app, whereas swing videos I took myself using the native camera app show 3 seconds, but that's nitpicking, a storage space issue, the video looks fine. There's no audio, but again, not a big deal at 240 fps, maybe at 30 fps though. I need more time to get familiar with the app, but straightaway, I got more out of my practice time with it than without.

I suppose storage would be an issue at some point if you save enough videos. My videos are all about in the 14-17 second range so 19 isn't that much of a stretch to me.

Right, audio at 240 is distorted and delayed anyway. I don't want my golf swings in full speed most of the time and I wouldn't care if there is no sound either way.

This is the important part. Everything else is trivial :-P

I'm a little anal when it comes to storage space, so most people can just ignore me. Also, it might work differently on Android.

To be fair, I have a 256GB SIM card on my phone that all my photos and videos save to, so I don't pay much attention to my storage space at all.

There are some settings in the application that seem to allow pre and post times. You can set them really short.

Have not tried it yet, but I did have a look at them while changing the number of windows and other crap.

1 second pre and 2 seconds post impact

Driver today with the Mevo. Hit it outdoor without the stickers from 4ft away. Very easy to set-up and use. Data seems very accurate when compared to when I've hit this club on Trackman. I'm sure the spin numbers would be more accurate with the metallic stickers but I'll have a to wait another day for that.

Pic below is from the dashboard on the their site. What's weird is that this isn't the order that I hit these shots. On the app the shot order is correct. Not sure how it's sorting this list.

@nevets88, your 3 second video if slow-mo is only 3 seconds played back at real time. Move the slow mo sliders and it gets “longer.”

Thanks. I set the sliders, but the delay slider is unmovable.

Not sure what to do with the time measurement. Guessing time is from strike to landing.

I mean the slow-mo sliders in a normal slow-mo video shot with the iPhone's Camera app. Video recorded at 240 FPS and played back at 240… 3 seconds is still 720 frames. Recording at 240 but setting playback at 30 would make that video 24 seconds (3 * 240/30).

I wasn't talking about the app, because I'm assuming you recorded using Camera.

P.S. For just recording full swings at high speed, I recommend Hudl Technique. Easier to move frame by frame with the scrub bar.

Ah, my mistake, I see.

Actually I recorded using the Mevo app. So the Mevo recorded video shows 19 seconds on the video I posted above when listed in the Photos app. A video of my swing via the Camera app that's pretty much exactly the same shows 3 seconds. Will have to download the videos to see just how much space they take. Might be the same exact size and all this is moot.

Can one set the Mevo app to data, no video, then switch to the Camera app to record video? Not sure, but doesn't the Mevo app need to be in the foreground to measure/talk to Mevo?

I think that disconnects the Mevo app from the Mevo itself.
