By the time I spend money on how to immediately cut 10 strokes off my game and post the needed scores ,  im not sure ill be able to afford $175.

Yeah, that might even involve transplanting your brain into the body of a 20 year old male athlete. I know that's pretty much what it would take for me, and that in itself could be pretty expensive. :-D

I'm thinking about registering for a qualifier for fun, but I haven't gotten any emails about it. I have to hunt down the forms myself on the USGA website, so for those who are interested it seems like a nice little bit of convenience to not have to go looking.

Unrelated but WOW, just saw your GG numbers for your clubs! Do you have a video of your swing!?

Plus, he lives in Colorado. And posted a three-hole vlog in the Newport Cup application topic.

@iacas covered it, though I plan to update my swing thread soon.

As for the U.S. Open qualifier, I think I've decided against it because it turns out the Colorado qualifiers are all either the week of finals (I, unfortunately, don't think my professors would let me skip out for that) or the week after finals. I don't want to enter unless I can reasonably prepare myself for it. I'm taking a look at the U.S. Amateur qualifying still though.

In a change of plans, I thought about it further and am now registered for my local qualifying. While I strongly doubt I'll advance to sectional qualifying, it should be a fun experience and I still have all day Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to play the course in advance and prepare specifically for that course. My schedule during finals weeks actually leaves me pretty open, since one of my finals is out of the way immediately on Sunday evening and only one final is after that Monday.

Should be fun, but your engineering finals come first!

I'm also telling my son to keep his grades up in these last two months so he won't lose his acceptance to UCLA. I'm such an Asian dad these days. . . :-D

With my game, I have a one in 1,000,000 chance of advancing beyond the first qualifying stage........this is why I was highly entertained by the.... 'HEY...come sign up!"....email request.  It's all good!

As the state of my game is today, I would be happy to break 80.  LOL..... GHIN doesn't activate until March 1st in Missouri.....I have two official GHIN rounds posted in 2017....81-85....Yea, sign me up for the open!  LOL    that was my point...being facetious....

I do turn 50 this year, but that still doesn't matter.  Those guys competing on a national stage are 10000000000 times better.   I normally finish each year with a 0-2 index.....but I am a 4-5 in may.   LOL
