do you find the kettle bell swings help quite a bit with what you are working on in your swing?  I've worked out with kettle bells and it's a great full body workout but I've never thought of using them in a specific way to train my golf swing.

Got the idea from LSW; I'm sure I do them differently than Erik intended, but doing them my way clearly reinforces the process of forward weight shift.  I used to do them much more regularly, but since my priority piece is now a centered turn, I do more wall drills and slower turns than anything else.

gotcha, I remember a medicine ball drill, maybe same effect.  Keep up the daily practice!

Posting for today and yesterday as no internet yesterday (my one-off!)

My two weeks of good golf finished with two more really good rounds. Played to 7 over twice around two tough tracks. Driving was mixed, but great when 'on' and I made some absurdly good scrambles - the highlight an up-and-down from a bunker at 160 yards... The one obvious point for work is my bunker play, which has been abysmal. I know the new Edel wedges will make this easier, but my technique is pitiful...

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

5th April:- Further full swing practice, outdoors, 6 iron, no ball. Still working on the backswing, specifically from takeaway to A2 (the right arm feel I posted about yesterday), but also starting to add in the next "segment" up to A4. Feeling a lot more connected through out the movement.

30 min

sklz, 7 iron and driver

stop at top, pump, step thru and full swings

3/3 alt 7 iron and driver sets

the takeaway was amazingly good tonight. So good that I took an extra 10 min of sets with Sklz, 7 iron and driver trying to see if my form would falter as I got more tired. It didn't which means a) I am getting stronger, b) I am not practicing long enough every night or c) both!

4/5: More rain this evening. Didn't want to putt at home since it's a lot faster than the course. Just spent about 20 minutes going over strategy for Friday.

4/5:  5 mins. wall drills; choked down half on Momentus and super-slo-mo swings w/focus on turn without sway, then initiating downswing w/hip turn, then extended shaft line on downswing tracing plane into ball, and forward lean at impact w/proper hip drive (again, no sway) into release.

A five or six pitching wedges followed by five or six 7-irons followed by four or so four irons. Working on slowing down my backswing a bit.

6/4/17 - lots of slow practice swings in the back garden, really feeling that slightly steeper takeaway and a little pause in transition to bump the hips forward. Felt pretty good and looking forward to taking it to the range tomorrow.

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

6th April:- Spent 15 mins on the full swing following from a video session. Am still allowing the clubhead to come inside up to A2, but not as much. Need to really exaggerate the feeling of it staying outside the hands, a-la Rickie Fowler. Will work on this tomorrow.

20 min !!!

sklz, 7 iron and driver

stop at top, pump, step Thur and full swings

3/3 alt 7 iron and driver

ok, so the takeaway was great again tonight and so I wanted to do extra sets of all the swings after my normal routine. I did. And when I called it quits and walked back into the house, only 20 min had elapsed!!! I don't know where extra 10 min went and I did not see Rod Serling smoking a cigarette and talking about the twillight zone.

only tomorrow will tell.

no golf this weekend, ugh

travel next week so it will be hard to keep my routine alive

4/6: 30 minutes on the practice green at the course today, practicing 5- and 10-foot putts from all around the hole, then another 30 minutes or so of pitching from various lies.

    • I did read the fine print tonight. It said replace with “similar features & function”.  8 yeas ago my purchase had features that today are available on the lower end models and the current version of my model has more “bells & whistles” than what I got 8 years ago.  So I am thinking they honored the agreement and I can’t argue the offer. since getting a credit for the full purchase price all I am really out over the past 8 years was the cost of the extended warranty, which was less than a low end  treadmill would have cost me. now the question is which model to replace with.  I’ll stay with Nordic Track or I forfeit the $1,463 credit so I will get Nordic Track.  And they honored the warranty and were not hard to work with which is a plus.
    • Generally speaking, extended warranties are a terrible deal and should almost always be avoided. They are a huge profit center for the companies that offer them, which should tell you almost everything you need to know about how much value most consumers get when purchasing them.  This is correct, and the old adage applies - only buy insurance when you can't afford the loss. This usually doesn't apply to most consumer goods.  To your second question, no I don't believe the offer is fair. They are replacing it, but it is not being replaced at "no cost to you". Since the amount being disputed (over $500) is non-trivial, I would probably push the issue. Don't waste your time on the phone with a customer service agent or a supervisor. They have probably given you all they have the authority to do. Rather, I would look at the terms of your agreement and specifically legal disputes. The odds are you probably agreed to binding arbitration in the event of a dispute. The agreement will outline what steps need to be followed, but it will probably look something like this.  1. Mail the Nordic Track legal department outlining your dispute and indicate you are not satisfied with the resolution offered.  2. Open up a case with the AAA (American Arbitration Association), along with the required documentation. 3. Wait about 4-5 weeks for a case to be opened - at which point someone from Nordic Track's legal department will offer to give you the new model at no cost to you.  They certainly don't want to spend the time and energy to fight you over $500. 4. Enjoy your new Nordic Track at no cost to you. I recently entered binding arbitration against a fairly large and well known company that screwed me over and refused to make it right. In my demand letter, I made a pretty sizeable request that included compensation for my time and frustration. Once it hit their legal department, they cut me a check - no questions asked. It was far cheaper to settle with me than to send their legal team to defend them in the arbitration.
    • I never thought of looking at it on multiple purchases like you said.  Yes, the extended may help me on 1 or 2 items but not the other 5 or 6.
    • Day 84 - Forgot to post yesterday, but I did some more chipping/pitching.    Back/neck were feeling better today, so I did a much overdue Stack session.
