I really admired how modern-day corporate-speak those Grupo Salinas commercials were.
Told you all about how socially concscious they were but didn't say a damn thing about what they were or what they do. Other than foster diversity and inclusivity and stuff.
Because the Tour that happened in reality is the PGA Tour, it is good for golf in the sense that it brought more interest in the sport and gave some sort of indication as to how the game is supposed to be played. God knows average folks would have never had an inkling left to their own devices.
I don't think it's the best version of itself, but it is the best we have and the benefits to the game far outweigh the shortfalls the Tour seems to have.
Like @Big C, I just played my first round of the year on my home course yesterday. It was a little bit of a struggle, but not awful, with one nice birdie putt on the par-5 15th. I gotta start somewhere!
