I much prefer walking on the flatlands of SE Michigan. Up at the cottage we play the courses at Shanty Creek and Boyne., You would need to be a mountain goat to walk some of those tracks, but riding is pretty much mandatory anyhow.

Unfortunately I leave them on the wet grass, I know it sucks.

There's a little trick... though it adds a bit of time to the shot clock.  In theory you should walk across the fairway/rough with 3 clubs.  Reach in your pocket and pull out 2 tees, plant them in the ground, and lay the grips of the 2 clubs you don't use on those 2 tees, up and off the wet grass.  Or if you are talented at a balancing act, use 1 tee and lay a grip on that, then lay the other grip on top of that protected grip.  Way TMI.  Sorry

I know you said "Way TIM" but.....What type of tees do you recommend?  I would guess wood tees may absorb the moisture thus limiting the benefit while plastic ones would not.  Also, do you take extra-long tees just incase you are in some US Open type rough and need to get the grips up a fair amount?  (Sarcastic tone implied)

Funny Stu! 😄  I also recommend green repair tools, cigar holders, railroad spikes and champagne flutes.

I beg to differ. Take 4 clubs, then after selecting one of them you build a little club teepee out of the remaining three. Grips stay dry and you can impress your friends with the power of the pyramid.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Cool.  I once started to pull 5 or 6 clubs because I was totally indecisive.  Then I just said, "Fu*k it!" and unstrapped my bag from the cart and carried it across the fairway.

You might as well just walk the course at that point.

Ok, try this. Grab a club from your buddies bag when he’s not looking and your three clubs. Dump his club on the ground and carefully lie the clubs you don’t use on his club so yours don’t get wet. Then when your done, tell your buddy he left his club in the grass. Works better if your buddies are a bit older.

Now that's funny stuff.  Right, and make the older guy go out and get his wet, soaking club to add insult to injury.

I have a golf buddy who hits a baffler (sort of a hybrid) with great accuracy and drops his shots next to the pin with it.  So I steal it out of his bag when he's not looking and put it in mine.  At first he would be perplexed and start walking back to the prior hole looking for it.  Now he knows to look in my bag first.

Just be careful not to exceed 14 clubs in your bag.  He could disqualify you and claim any side-bets.

If time is of the essence, I'd rather ride super early before the choose-ups begin or catch the twilight time slot.  If I have a lot of time, I prefer to walk.

Or , as I have done sometimes , if you have an iron cover take it off and lie it on the ground and lay the grip on top of it.
