When not in tournament mode, it will give slope and wind adjusted numbers, which is the problem. Same as a range finder with slope function turned on.

I would say this is probably a major issue for handicap uniformity.       I would guess that 90% of golfers that use a range finder have slope on, and then go on to record handicaps.   
Same with Arccos and other devices.

How much does it help to have wind- and altitude-adjusted numbers? For a very good player it probably helps some. 

For my part - currently an 11 - I don't really notice much help from having this extra information. 

Seems like a silly rule - that you can use a device to give you the distance, but not a change in elevation or wind strength/direction - but rules are rules.

I like to know the barometric pressure and if possible the growth rate of the green, whatever species of grass it may have. I of course always carry a protractor in my bag as well.

Do you take a wet bulb measurement to get the exact dew point as well?😜

I run ahead for each approach and test the springiness of the greens before choosing my club and shot like Bryson's caddies do each morning.

I wouldn't. Heck, many don't even spring for the slope-capable ones. Dick's sells over 5x more regular rangefinders than they do ones with slope.

It can help, and it's not general knowledge, so… it's a good rule.

I got an email that Arccos now can let you track the whole round from the Apple Watch. iPhone not needed during the round, evidently.

I am amazed that in a world of planned obsolescence, my 2016 Gen1 sensors still work fine, without any subscription, kudos to Arccos

For regular users: is there a stat that you think is missing or need improvement?

For me, I would love to see aggregated stats by course (best round, etc)

Ive Recently added the Arccos sensors to my clubs and have completed 5 rounds so will just start to get into Caddie mode next round.

However my initial impression are very good. I do have to say their stats on where you are gaining/losing strokes seems to be super helpful and really has shown me i need to change where im spending my limited time practicing. 

How does everyone else feel about the improvements they have made over years.

 

All below insights are compared to a 10 HCP since that is my goal this year.

Why not go ShotScope? No subscription fees. Similar data.

I'm glad you're enjoying Arccos. I was an Arccos user way back in 2016-2018. Back then you didn't have to pay the subscription if you didn't want the caddie feature, but you got all the data for free. Which I thought was fine because the caddie feature actually annoyed me. 

Now-a-days, I use ShotScope. No sub fee. The data looks to be very similar.

Yeah. having used both I agree with this statement.

The only reason I can think of to use Arccos over Shotscope is if you bought PING or Cobra clubs that came with Arccos integrated into the grips. You still have to pay the subscription fee, but you don't have to pay for the sensors. So, for like a year or two its kind of a cost neutral. 

I do remember way back when I first got Arccos, I read someplace that Arccos planned to make money by selling their data, not selling subscription fees.

I was given a new rangefinder in the fall and need to wear an Apple Watch when I play. Local golfers mentioned they liked Arccos better, but likely due to lack of experience with Shotscope.

Wanted info on shots gained as I planned goals for next year. I know my putting is substandard for my handicap when I play. Could calculate for putting but not the others. and I like the Saturday Stats podcast with Lou Stagner,Mark Crossfiled and Greg Chalmers.

Honestly, it was something that I came across watching some YouTube videos and hadn’t heard of shot scope in researching Arccos as another option.
