Whoa!  No way I'd pay that.  $20 at the Roger Dunn I was at.

glad I ran across this thread. I ordered a pair from Amazon after my recent run in with bee stings. Probably wont  have any deterrent  on bees, but should help against sun damage. I also have skin problems (Psoriasis?) not sure what to call it, just itchy scaly skin. I don't think these are compression sleeves, but maybe one could wear a compression sleeve on top of one of them?

not sold on the copper fit thing though.

I think if I were to do this I would just wear my long sleeve fishing shirts under my golf shirt.  They are very breathable and do an amazing job of protecting against the sun.  I like the AFTCO brand shirts.

I sometimes play in those Columbia fishing shirts.  They are pretty good for hot weather.

Just for the halibut...I ordered a pair of the Elixir sleeves. they feel great. Now I know why women (and some men?) wear hosiery. Might help with muscle fatigue, but I would imagine is in effect a placebo.

Looking for an alternative to greasy sun block.  Anyone using UV arm sleeves, and if so any brand recommendations?

Could be. My old boss was a woman from China and she wore those sleeves when golfing.

It's cultural there. Tans were for the working class who worked outside, or something like that. There's a reason Geishas wear white makeup. I think they feel pale = beauty.

I don't have problems with the sun but IMHO, you would be way better off with sun blocking clothes than slathering sun screen all over. Who knows what all the chemicals in that stuff could cause down the road.

My buddy has had a couple of small encounters with skin cancer. So, he needs to apply a prescription sunscreen before we go out to play. His complaint is that it doesn't allow his skin to breathe. He suffers the whole round on a hot day.

Well, he bought me a "Loop Card", a card that gives you discounts at some local golf courses. So, I bought him a couple of canisters of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen at 100 SPF. It's supposed to be very light feeling, and I bought the spray, which he seems to prefer.

We're supposed to play Thursday, which will be when I give them to him, and may not be a sunny day. Alberto VO5 is headed our way. So it may not be a true test. We'll see what happens.

@iacas Have you tried those sleeves you linked? I’ve been getting burnt at work even with sunscreen, cause sometimes a few hours go by and I forget to reapply. For $10 if they’re good I’ll snag a few pairs.

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? TIGER WOODS' AMATEUR VICTORIES YEAR WIN(S) 1984 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1985 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1988 Boy's 11-12 Junior World Golf Championships   1989 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships   1990 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships, Insurance Youth Golf Classic   1991 U.S. Junior Amateur, Boys 15–17 Junior World Golf Championships, Orange Bowl International Junior Look at some other AJGA Players of the Year. How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
    • Just stumbled onto the article.  Totally random and thought it might be interested to hear other thoughts. maybe I am tired of all the LIV crap and  this just caught my attention.
    • Day 1: Spent some time hitting some balls. Working on my hips and a “soft” and straight trail arm.
    • Slight digression on the way to my point. Back in the day there were a lot of people who said that Tiger won because of “the Tiger effect” where people pushed too hard and made mistakes trying to catch him and fell by the wayside. I thought that was BS. It was just that he was that much better than them. I don’t think anything has changed my mind on that.    The hype about Miles Russell is very limited. I’ve seen nothing about him outside of some fairly hardcore golf websites. But I think that the reason those people are talking about him is because he is very good. Same as Tiger. And like I said he just broke one of Tiger’s records. That gets hardcore golf fans to pay attention.
