Just a little tickle for y'all… I know we have a LOT of TRUE Linkswear fans here. I am one of the biggest, if not the biggest here. TRUE's original shoes, reviewed here offered quality materials in a unique looking shoe that had a lot of the features I love in shoes:

  • lightweight
  • flexible
  • zero drop
  • minimal support
  • low to the ground
  • conforming/twistable
  • great feeling
  • comfortable
  • waterproof
  • great materials and leather

Well, it's no secret that TRUE has spent a few years in the rough. Outside influences and a few missteps led to the introduction of some forgettable models, and the faith of the TRUE fans has been tested.

For the past year or so, Ryan Moore, his brothers, and other trusted TRUE reps and "fans of the walk" have been scouring the world for the best materials, the best factories, and advanced construction techniques. They've re-examined what they wanted out of a shoe, and are truly returning to shoes that you can wear on the golf course, to the office, or out for a night on the town.

Look for more details soon, but finally (and I realize how odd that sounds after only a few years off the tried and true path that made so many instant, hard-core fans) TRUE is returning to its roots. Returning to a world where you can #EnjoyTheWalk.

More coming soon… stay tuned.

Great news. I for one have fallen out of favor with them after a few really bad models, but through it all I still love (and wear) some of their original shoes. I am very hopeful of a revival.

You will be happy, I believe. And sooner than you might think.

When these first premiered, I thought it was a terrible idea.  Then a friend of mine gave me a pair of Footjoys in the style and I gave them a try.  They're now my favorite golf shoe.

I have a pair of spike shoes that are due for replacement in the not-too-distant future.  We now have a frontrunner for my next pair of golf shoes.

I'm really excited for this.

I'd moved away from True after their quality-control issues started to surface, and I ended up finding a shoe (Puma Faas) that was ALMOST as good...but still feels like a bit of a compromise. And now they're discontinued, anyway.

If True really gets back to their roots and makes high-quality shoes again, I can't wait to jump back on board.

Wore my TRUE Tours this last weekend, and was reminded how muck I really like these "duck" foot shoes. Extreme comfort. Hope the later models stay the course. -Marv

I still have ten pair that I cycle through-Crossing fingers that soon I will have the faith to restock.

I hope the new model shoes are better.. I was a BIG fan of the originals.  I went through 2 pair (I'm a walker) in 2 years. The first pair that I wore out I took pictures of and sent them to True so they could see what roughly 1,000 miles of walking did to them. I play 18 holes 5 days a week.

Anyway, I bought another pair and ended up with HUGE blisters on my heels. Even wearing large Band Aids didn't help.

Not knowing what to get I bought a pair of New Balance and pair of Puma's. I like both of these but, the Puma's are my favorite out of the two.  They are both ragged now so, I'll be needing a new pair soon.

I would really like to get back into the Trues.. I like them but, I don't want to toss money away if they are going to give me blisters.

Just about any shoe will give you blisters if they don't fit you properly. I've never had a pair of TRUEs give me blisters.

You're going to enjoy what you see later this week, I think.

That's true..(pun intended) But, these were the same size as the previous 2 pair. The only difference is this pair was the Lyt. The material in the heel area is a fabric of some type instead of being smooth in the heel like the leather type. I believe the fabric material may be "bunching up"  causing friction on the heel.

I walk 18 everyday so, the feet don't get any "golf cart riding" rest.

I really like the True's and I'll probably order a pair or two over the winter.

Different models fit differently. I wear an 11 in the Elements pro and a 10.5 in the originals. I wore an 11.5 in Classix, IIRC.

I LOVE the style and appearance of the "Original" model. All 3 colors look fantastic. I dont even need shoes right now but I might have to get a pair just because

I feel like I could throw a pair of jeans on and wear those out to dinner or even to work. Those will definitely be going on my Christmas list.

Just saw the True Link on FB, and thought I'd check it out here since TST has always been a fan - think I've still got 3 pairs of Trues in the closet - a couple meant for winter wear that haven't been worn - thought they'd be good for my trip to Bandon, but I haven't made that trip  ... yet.

I'd like both of those models in black, please. The black hides some of the plain look of the Original and I do like the change of texture in that shoe. The Outsider may be my preference. Was looking for something other than my trusty Eccos - will look further. Good luck all!

I really like both styles. I will be checking them out this year. If they are really good I suspect I might stock up. :)

I like the look of the Originals and I don't generally like True's aesthetic. Will wait and see how the waterproofing holds up, which is the #1 factor for me when it comes to golf shoes.

Though honestly I'm not in the market for shoes atm. I need to stop looking at things I want to buy

    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
    • I agree with @klineka & @DaveP043 above.  When a new member first joins the club they cold be told that they are not eligible for tournaments until they have an established HCP.  As you said, it only takes a few rounds.  If they do not to post HCP that was their choice and choices have consequences.  If playing in the tournament is important to them then they should step up and establish an HCP.  Maybe they miss the 1st tournament, is that a real big deal?  And if it is a "Big Deal" to them then they had the opportunity to establish the HCP. As for not knowing how to report for HCP I assume your club has a pro and they should be able to assist in getting the scores reported and I suspect out of state courses may also have staff that can assist if asked.
