Hi Guys,

This is probably totally the wrong spot, or covering over-walked turf, but whats everyone's go-to-golf toolkit on their phones and watches. Mine is:

 - TeeTimes.co.uk to find cheap rounds
 - PING's app for putter training
 - PGA Tour Live & NowTV to watch the pros
 - Balata - to track my shots and improvement*

Love to know what everyone else uses,

Dan

Sorry, should have put my Apple creds in here. Apple Certified Technical Coordinator, managing fourty macs and seven servers. Software development in PHP and Swift. 15" MacBook Pro, iPhone 6 (yuck), iPad Pro, Apple TVs, Mac mini media server and Macs, iPhones/iPads for the kids. Wear my Microsoft golf shirt ironically.

For me I really only have two. PGA Tour app and Hole 19 GPS app. The former is pretty obvious, but I love Hole 19 for a golf gps as you can use it with your phones location services set to off as having that on will drain your battery by the 5th hole. You can download a map and just find a tree or bunker you are close to and set your position based on that and it gives you yardage. I would kind of like an app that keeps track of my yardages with different clubs and or more practice stats.

This sounds boring, but the native photo app for videoing your swing. So easy to use. You think, how hard can it be? Yeah, try videoing on an Android phone. In all honesty, it's been awhile since I tried on an Android phone, so it probably got better. The iOS camera interface is so intuitive and you can just figure out how to use it so quickly. It's fast, I can put a video on YouTube in a flash.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

GolfLogix for distances including to hazards, etc., pictures of fairway, when I feel necessary such as on a new course; and a SkyCaddie watch for front, center, back. I like both as quick aids. -Marv

    • Reviving this old thread as it seems most relevant to my question on "what is OB". I was playing a casual round by myself yesterday early in the AM. I pull my tee shot that lands near a road and then rolls across the road to the far side. I tee another up and land near the fairway. I was going to forget about the first tee shot, buy a man taking an early morning stroll points out where my ball ended up. I take a look and it is a great lie. I put it to 15 feet with my 54*, just miss my birdie putt and have a tap-in for par. Or do I? Here is the plan view of the hole: There are no white stakes anywhere, so I didn't think anything of it at the time. Here is a street view: Now I picked up my 2019 version of the Rules of Golf and found this  2.1 Course Boundaries and Out of Bounds: Golf is played on a course whose boundaries are set by the Committee. Areas not on the course are out of bounds. The second sentence leads me to believe that the ball was out of bounds as it was not on the course. It is unusual for me to be there, but lots of people wind up over there. I have a two-day tournament coming up here, so I want to be prepared. I suppose I could inquire in the clubhouse about the composition of the "committee" and then ask them, but short of that what does this community think?

    • This is a fun leaderboard. I don't feel particularly vested in anyone specifically albeit we all know one man is looking like he will most probably put this championship to sleep by the time the day is over today. On a different note, I've changed my tune on BDC in the last year or so. I found myself applauding and genuinely happy for him for making the cut yesterday. Iffff a LIV guy wins this year I would rather it be him. Unlikely Scottie who seems to have supreme control of all his levers, he lives a bit more on the edge and yet has the perseverance and might I say, infectious positivity of a small time hustler. Dude just keeps hammering away. Love it.
