Great playing with you guys yesterday. I was looking back through your rounds and now I know roughly how far some of my tee shots went (the ones in play) since my GPS/stats app wasn't working yesterday.
Welcome to TST. Callaway is a solid brand for sure. Those models are a bit on the ‘lower end’ scale but Callaway nonetheless. Are you definitely wanting new clubs? I ask because you can find great deals on used clubs on eBay, Callaway Pre-Owned, 2ndSwing and some other places. As a starter you’d be fine with either set. I would avoid the slot-line clubs.
Used clubs are fine because unless they’re bent and/or grossly damaged on the face they’re very playable. The X20 NG irons go for as low as $15/club on Callaway Pre-Owned and that includes a 12 month guarantee and a 90 day buy back. Lots to choose from.
Now of course the absolute best way to go about this is to be able to hit the clubs before you buy them. Looks and feel shouldn’t be ignored. But it may be difficult to do that in this time so going with Callaway having the buy back plan is a good move. Cheers!
