Still very close and we all know these can turn quickly, particularly with the 5 challenges remaining. Getting deep into the back nine now.

Blue needs a big big comeback. It’s not looking good for the host squad right now.

I am not counting points yet for points that are obvious: for example, in Match 5 Phil is up 7 after 15 for the overall. That will be a point for red, but it's too confusing to partially do that.

There are 12 points up for grabs for the back nine and total. You can decide which are the ones that are basically conceded.

Plus, I believe there are still 5 challenge points left.

I think the challenges will be a crazy finish. Anything could happen.

You have the latest info, but as the board stands it's 28-27 RED.... IF all matches conclude the way they are now (a big IF, granted), with 5 challenges not invoked.

Then it boils down to: BLUE would need 4 of the 5 remaining challenges to win, 3 of the 5 remaining to tie.

Blue pulls it out!

Without the Challenge Balls… it would have been another tie.

As I've heard before, if you jake that just means you got the bet right! If you almost tie, that means you got the challenge and the teams right! Nice going everyone!

    • @bkuehn1952Thanks for that response.  What is the value in 90% handicap.  I understand how it would lower the HCP of the best players, but wouldn't it harm the high handicappers?   Thanks.
    • I love the grind. I learned to love it from Mr. O’Grady. We would show up at sunrise and leave at sunset every single day of a MORAD school. Wish he’d let me go to another one.   I do a 90 minute to 2 hour session everyday. 30 minutes mechanics. 30 minutes measured practice hitting to targets and measuring proximity… Then 30 - 60 minutes either on mechanics again or playing a simulated round.
    • Use official handicaps. Make everyone who plays sign up for a handicap. Using handicaps based on tournament play is better but it takes a long time for a player to have a reasonable number of scores. Yes, the new handicap system starts at three scores but I think the resulting number has low credibility. Also, it takes a bit of work to calculate the “C” handicap. If you have 40 players, make two flights. Make the split wherever it needs to be to get equal flights.  If there is a large spread in the high and low index in each flight, consider using a percentage of the handicap (90% is recommended). Your Club Champion should be the player with the lowest gross average over the season with a minimum number of events required (5?). You can also award “Net Player of the Year” to the member who wins the most gift certificates.
    • Been on the diet since April 2019. I take it to prevent cluster headaches, which I've suffered from since age 13. The keto diet somehow stops neurological issues like epilepsy and cluster headaches for some reason. They don't really know for sure how. I suspect it has something to do with an inflammation reduction, at least in regards to the cluster headaches. There are also some possible benefits for alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder as it's called now. The Ketogenic Diet May Play a Role in Treating Alcoholism This dietary intervention may help with detox and cravings. The diet's not for everybody though, agreed there. I think a lot of people do great on carbs. I however definitely don't unfortunately. Keto helps me a lot.
    • It is interesting that according to the poll, more members carry a 4 or 5 iron than a 9 iron. I suspect some responders may have misunderstood the question and listed their longest iron rather than all the irons they carry. Or maybe the info is spot on.
