Golfers Journal is fabulous. I subscribed as I was made aware by Golf Odyssey....I get way too many mags as it is but Golfers Journal is unique. I have gotten all issues. The photography is special. The content comes from a unique perspective. When I get my Golf/Golf Digest.....they are read and tossed same day. I tear out any special travel info. Golfers Journal and Links Mag I have got and will not toss an issue.

I agree. And the leather head cover they sent me is very nice!

I probably have this in the wrong thread... but could not put in the reading room.  I am wondering if anyone  subscribes to the golfers journal. I recently got a hold of an issue and really liked it. I see that it's published quarterly and it's not cheap. Just wanted to get some other views of the publication to see if it's worth me dropping the cash.

You won't regret signing up. It's the kind of thing that makes you feel good about being a golfer.

If you like  good writing, great photography, absence of canned instruction, absence of equipment reviews, near complete absence of advertising, you'll love it.  I have volumes 1 through 9, and I hear that Vol 10 will be coming soon.  I anticipate being a subscriber for life.

As do I. I got 10 early last week… you should check with them, as your copy may have been lost in the mail or something?

I seem to run a few days behind some of the rest of you, I'll give it a couple more days.  I'd love to have it when I head to NC for Thanksgiving.

I got volume 10 last week, too. I still have a story I need to read in volume 9, but that's besides the point...

Still love the magazine. Even the articles that I would normally skip in a more frequent magazine are great.

Yup, I run about a week behind y'all for some reason, my issue just showed up today.  Oddly, I received two copies, one addressed to my wife, one to me.  I guess I need to trace back, to see if I've been charged for two subscriptions, and make the corrections.  On the other hand, I can leave a copy in our pro shop, with my referral code in it.  Best way I can imagine to get some new subscriptions.

The link is slightly different now. I think the old one still works, but here you go.

Okay I subscribed...I used the link above. Does that mean you and I both get an extra issue?

    • I tend to follow my surroundings and flow with the course (if I have played it before) and don't bother with how long I take to setup. If nothing is rushed, then I am not rushed. I don't sit in the car too long or take a large amount of time getting my gear ready. I judge accordingly, but I really don't like to be rushed. I pay my hard earned money to play just like the next person does. It doesn't take long to setup my equipment and put my shoes on. I am always reasonably well prepared before I even get to the course so if need be, I can be quick on the go. I believe it is all about respect to people and fellow golfers in general. Of course there are those that carry great disrespect for others and could give a rip about anything which usually bring challenges to what may be a good golf game.  Some weeks ago, me and a buddy played a course and there was a foursome that were in front of us at the first Tee that actually warmed up and stretched on the Tee box delaying those behind them! There were no less than two groups waiting behind us. After quite a wait and seeing this was not going to change, we decided to start on the 10 hole and while we drove the cart over to 10 (we could see #1 tee box from 10) and got set up on the tenth hole we could see they still had not finished. What is really bad is we tee'd up and drove our balls and two of them were still not finished!
    • One thing I will add is if your swing speed is 80-82 with a 6 iron, I doubt u hit it 196. Hit outside and check some more places for launch etc... but don’t do anything to the clubs yet.
    • I’m a believer in the arms being responsible for a lot of swing speed, but yes. It feels a lot less ‘movement’ was able to generate good power. However I began to think that my actual SS wasn’t really improving. It was the quality of strike. My conventional swing can be all over the face with an in to out and out to in path ( more likely out to in). With this swing I was almost always in to out and near the middle of the club face. So I think I was just hitting better shots. Again, JV would never provide any data from himself nor any students showing increases in SS.  I don’t have a problem with having a 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 swing. It’s the ‘10’ different that seemed ridiculous to me. I’ll never use a 4i to hit the ball 20yds.
    • i saw your post on Golf wrx from November 30.  You might have wanted to add that according to what you wrote there you bought the clubs already. Accra i123 M3 graphite shafts meet Callaway Steelhead XR irons Hi all: New here first post so bear with me. Golfed my whole life except for the past 6 years until I...
    • It probably takes me around 5 minutes from the time my car pulls in till I can be on the tee and ready to hit.  I never wear my golf shoes and drive.  Takes me a minute to wear the shoes, then about 2 to 3 minutes to get my cart and bag set up.  Then another minute or so to get all the stuff out of the bag that I need. However, I am always fairly quick on the course, and have never found myself to be the cause of latency in any group I am playing with. I like to get to the course at least 15 minutes before I have to tee off to give myself at least 5 minutes to warm up and stretch before I start playing.  I find it really makes a difference to my game.
