sounds good.  I sometimes forget to check the "club", so if and when a date is decided, if you remember, you might give me a reminder by PM or post on regular forum to wake me up.  I will try to keep myself current however, not withstanding I have a severe case of C.R.S.

Just subscribe/follow the topic.

Very easy.

I see my name on here, but my wife and I will be up north in Oregon visiting her relatives.

I may be unavailable on 1/27, but another weekend in January is possible for me.

So far, it looks like it's possibly just the two of us?

It looks like we’re shooting for Feb then.

Unless we have epic snow then as well.

I'm guessing a lot of the So. Cal. members thoughts are towards those slopes as well, and noticeably absent from a golf gathering thread.

That’s a good plan if the slopes are nice. Since I don’t ski I want to use this time to work on my game before the season officially kicks in.

It's 18" of fresh powder now, but by this MLK weekend it might be only "packed powder" known as ice anywhere else in the world. I'll watch the ski cams. If the snow is too hard, I might just go to Santa Barbara this weekend.

Late to the party. We looking for outing dates? I can get most any day off, just need to know in advance. I’m also up for Coronado.

Actually, I'm headed for San Diego next Wednesday and will have the morning free.

I can come down for an early morning tee time? I have plans at 12:00 though then work. . .

@Hacker James or anyone else? Vinyards GC sounds perfect if there are any takers?

Hey, I'm planning to book a tee time for next Wednesday at 6:07 and for me it's only $22.50 with cart and a beverage. @Hacker James and @Bechambo ? Any other takers? Should I reserve more people?

Not going to make that one. I need at least two weeks notification, so I can request the day. I work an irregular schedule, but it’s flexible.

I'll likely be coming down a few more times coming up, but I posted this pretty much as soon as I found out I'm going there. It's funny that if a person wants to take off time he needs to give 2 weeks, but when the company wants you to go somewhere you get like a few days. I sometimes get 2 days notice to go to China :-P

Hey, what about an outing? Looks like the snow forecast for the remainder of the season is pretty bleak, so let's talk golf slopes?

    • Played an outing Sunday. Hadn’t hit a ball in 2.5 weeks. First shot I hit a 7 iron on par 3 that never left the stick. Absolutely pure strike. Hit my irons like that most of the day. Hit a stick with an 8 iron. Landed a 5 iron within 6 feet. Hell of a day ball striking irons. Struggles off tee to an extent but I had partners for that. We had mulligans and tosses.... and managed a -19 which is best outing score I’ve ever posted. We finished 2nd to a -21 tho. Those 4 pars we made cost us.
    • Have an old SC that's apparently been cut off, shaft band says 34" but measures 33"and it feels pretty good.
    • Very good. Always nice to get a club that works.
    • Had two chip-in birdies today on difficult par-3 holes. The first one was a bit lucky. The course was absolutely drenched due to heavy rains, and the hole was cut at a low point on the green. My pitch shot would have rolled 10-15 feet past the hole under normal conditions, but the water on the green killed the speed and the ball one hopped into the hole. The second one was actually a good shot. I was on an upslope with the green above me, and hit a perfectly weighted pitch that landed on a downslope and rolled into the hole, which was cut on a well drained part of the green.
    • I’ve always been intrigued by hickory golf. There’s a guy I see sometimes playing hickories with the full getup and it it looks like tons of fun. I’d love to get a starter set, but not interested in restoration, and no clue where to even begin.
