Day 394

Worked on my swing  balance, swing speed, and timing this morning.

What I worked on was swinging  my hands the same speed on my full swings. By swinging my hands the same speed, the different length shafts, and club heads get to do the jobs their various lofts intended them to do. The speed I swing at, is near the max speed I can swing at, and still keep my balance.

A consistent swing speed, when used with my same brand game balls, also gives me consistent (+/-) carry yardages through out my bag of clubs.

Too many times I observe golfers on the range, with inconsistent swing speeds, which of course is poor practice time spent imo. Without consistent carry yardages, it's hard to record consistent "good" scores

Before my full swing session, I worked on consistent 1/2, and 3/4 swing speeds. I varied the swing speeds to mimic those "finesse" shots I run into all the time when playing for a score. Some swings were more arms, and less body. Others were with normal body, with arm movements.

I guess the key point of this practice session is to maintain consistency in my scores, which at the end of a round is all that matters.

Day 116, January 30

Filmed my swing indoors at my gym using Mirror Vision App. I was able to get some slow motion too, even with the poor lighting. Focused on head at set up, pitch elbow in transition and flatter left shoulder turn through impact per my Evolvr lesson.

DAY 429    Glad to get out again.  Spent almost three hours on the range working on my drills to improve my swing mechanics, stay more centered, and improve my impact position.   Then went out to play some golf... made it through 17 holes before it became dark.  Hit a lot of great shots and some lose ones... and will tidying in those up.  Hit 11/17 GIR ,..  made one birdie on the front nine, on the back we did not putt any green as the guy I was playing and I were were strictly focusing on ball striking.

Day 351 - January 30, 2019 - Got in some good work today. Started off feeling really badly, but realized I wasn't really using the lower body on the downswing because I was focusing on the arms so much.

Day 117, January 31

Indoors again today and most likely until Saturday. Did mirror work hitting foam balls into a net with a 6 irons. Again focused on head at set up, pitch elbow feel and left shoulder rotation through impact and extending right arm through impact. I didn't film today.

Day 395

Just some warm up swings on the driving range to prep for a 10 am, or sooner tee time.

Went through my entire bag a few times. Finished up with the club, I will tee off with on the first three holes. Also the same club I will be hitting fairway shots on the holes too.

No putting warm up strokes, as the first couple of holes will tell me how the course's greens are playing today.

Playing today with some younger guys who will be new friends by the time these 18 holes are over.

Day 31, 31 January

Short if time today:

10 minutes carpet putting, from 12ft. My focus was on my stance, over the ball, and a steady stroke. I’m seeing decent results.

Then, it was out to the garage for 20 minutes working with my driver on my takeaway- resolving a recent issuing of starting outside. I got good rotation through the ball and a more balanced finish. It felt good.

Day 430     Spent 2 1/2 hours on the range, working on swing mechanics (rotating versus swaying, AND improving my impact positions), as well as going through the Super Speed System Protocol to continue working on my swing speed.   Home for a late lunch then back at it.  This time I worked for 90 minutes on the putting green using one drill - putting through the narrowest gates on the Pelz Putting Tutor.

Day 396

Short pitches, chips, and flop (lob) shots

Pitch, and chip focuses were on hitting my landing area, 18-24 inches on the green, after green reads, with different clubs, to different practice pins.

Flop shot focus was on landing the ball as near as possible to the targeted practice pin. A drop, and stop shot so to speak.

All shots required an accurate body/posture alignments, as well as club face/intermediate target alignments. Also paid attention to swinging along my shoulder line.

DAY 431   Some days you just have to grind it out!!  So today I spent 2 1/2 hours almost exclusively on one drill.  It was the feet together drill, where I used a PW and a 48 degree wedge.   I am trying to insure my first move down is not my head moving forward toward the target, ....   the better I did it the more crisply and accurately I hit the ball.  I am thinking this is really going to be helpful.... as I continue to build a better swing.

Day 32, 1 February

I should have switched to bold a few days ago.

20 mins of warm-up with a 8i. I then dedicated 90 minutes to my driver. In the end, it wasn’t the most productive session as I couldn’t stop launching the ball too high at +20 degrees. I played when tired, I should have stopped......

There’s always tomorrow

    • I did read the fine print tonight. It said replace with “similar features & function”.  8 yeas ago my purchase had features that today are available on the lower end models and the current version of my model has more “bells & whistles” than what I got 8 years ago.  So I am thinking they honored the agreement and I can’t argue the offer. since getting a credit for the full purchase price all I am really out over the past 8 years was the cost of the extended warranty, which was less than a low end  treadmill would have cost me. now the question is which model to replace with.  I’ll stay with Nordic Track or I forfeit the $1,463 credit so I will get Nordic Track.  And they honored the warranty and were not hard to work with which is a plus.
    • Generally speaking, extended warranties are a terrible deal and should almost always be avoided. They are a huge profit center for the companies that offer them, which should tell you almost everything you need to know about how much value most consumers get when purchasing them.  This is correct, and the old adage applies - only buy insurance when you can't afford the loss. This usually doesn't apply to most consumer goods.  To your second question, no I don't believe the offer is fair. They are replacing it, but it is not being replaced at "no cost to you". Since the amount being disputed (over $500) is non-trivial, I would probably push the issue. Don't waste your time on the phone with a customer service agent or a supervisor. They have probably given you all they have the authority to do. Rather, I would look at the terms of your agreement and specifically legal disputes. The odds are you probably agreed to binding arbitration in the event of a dispute. The agreement will outline what steps need to be followed, but it will probably look something like this.  1. Mail the Nordic Track legal department outlining your dispute and indicate you are not satisfied with the resolution offered.  2. Open up a case with the AAA (American Arbitration Association), along with the required documentation. 3. Wait about 4-5 weeks for a case to be opened - at which point someone from Nordic Track's legal department will offer to give you the new model at no cost to you.  They certainly don't want to spend the time and energy to fight you over $500. 4. Enjoy your new Nordic Track at no cost to you. I recently entered binding arbitration against a fairly large and well known company that screwed me over and refused to make it right. In my demand letter, I made a pretty sizeable request that included compensation for my time and frustration. Once it hit their legal department, they cut me a check - no questions asked. It was far cheaper to settle with me than to send their legal team to defend them in the arbitration.
    • I never thought of looking at it on multiple purchases like you said.  Yes, the extended may help me on 1 or 2 items but not the other 5 or 6.
    • Day 84 - Forgot to post yesterday, but I did some more chipping/pitching.    Back/neck were feeling better today, so I did a much overdue Stack session.
