Day 86.  Long day at work, 30 range balls after work.  Indoors, off a mat, into a net.  I really need a mirror in that room.

Yay, Day 10:

Had to get a bit in early today. Wanted to regrip and need the sticks ready for tomorrow round.
Early practice was all chipping... well, I say that but I did hit the 4 iron a bit.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 242

Hit some 50+/- yard wedge shots. Focus was on alignment, and crisp ball contact. Hit 14 balls. Dispersion was less than two fingers width, which means all the balls would have been on the green, and at least easy two putts. (B+)

From there it was full swings on the driving range using my full bag. Most of the shots started out well. Not sure where the longer ball flights landed due to the angle of the sun. Hit 40+/- balls. Had 8 fat shots, and a couple of slices. (C)

From the DR, it was on to the putting green. Played 18 pins, using a little game called "Bridgestone vs Precept" Precept won, one up. I was 3 putts over par. (75) (B-)

In My Bag:
A whole bunch of Tour Edge golf stuff......

Day 43:

Just gameplanning today. Planned my tee shots on all the par 4s and 5’s. Supposed to have a round Saturday, but the weather forecast looks horrid. We will see.

DAY 281   5 hours plus today!!

Spent a couple of hours on the range working on my Full Swing and Approach Wedges... purely worked on technique via drills.

Then an hour on the putting green working through 2 drills... the first involved in using the Pelz Putting Tutor to set up putts around a hole.... starting at 3 feet, and extending to 6 feet.  In this drill you have to focus on your green reading skills AND your ability to hit the putt on line or you knock the marbles off the PPT.  One of the great things about using Aimpoint is that I did not have a single mis-read in 16 putts.   Then a distance drill from 20-60 feet from the hole.

Then an hour working on chipping working on address position and downswing.

Off to my lesson on Pitching for 30 minutes followed by an hour on the range using the drills assigned from the coaching lesson.  Full day indeed!!

Then spent 3 hours getting two new phones cell phones set up :-( ...  Got the new phone among other reason so I could use Blast Motion app for Golf.

Day 87.  During halftime of the Cardinals game, I wandered upstairs and hit 18 balls.  Mat, net, real balls.  No more excuses for not practicing on Sundays this season!

Day 71, August 31

Played a local par 3 course today with my wife. Painfully slow. There were two 5-somes playing at a glacial pace. They were also awful players. Made the round not fun at all. It usually takes us an hour to play. Almost 1:45!

Day 243

Just some pitching, and longer chipping shots this morning. Focus was on alignment, green reads, and landing areas. Hit 56 balls. Idea was to get the balls close enough to the pins for high percentage one putts.  (B-)

Day 209 - August 31, 2018 - A long day downtown, hitting about 50 golf balls (those who have seen me practice know that can take a long time). Messed with some different feelings. While folding earlier is important, so is the "width" at the top. Without it, with just folding, I get narrow and struggle with the same things at the top and in transition.

DAY 282   Spent an hour plus around the practice green working on my chipping technique... 7 drills which include hitting chips Right Hand Only and Left Hand Only.

Spent an hour plus on the range working on my Approach Wedge drills which I was assigned yesterday... focusing on an improved backswing. I tend to get under the plane early in the backswing.

Then went to play the front nine....  Fridays is Red Tee day.   Played two holes and was one under par... then ran into a traffic jam!! :-(  So went back to the second hole and hit wedges from 15-30 yards into the green for about 15 minutes.  Called it a day.. except will probably pull out my PuttOUT for some practice on the rug.

Day 53

A driver focused day. Nice day, gentle fades for the most part, none wildly off line. 200 -205 average with one monster (for me) about 245.  A few were too high to be more that 185-190.  Corrections were readily made with mainly keeping weight well centered and head down.

10 Minutes of Mirror Work. Been doing vacation activities so haven’t practiced much today, but if the rain holds off (unlikely) we will play Kiva tomorrow. If we can’t play we will try and play Sunday. 😕

I don't know what the plans are for our group on Friday but even if we don't make it for dinner with the rest of the Friday arrivals, I'll be more than happy to meet up somewhere for a beer or something.
    • Taking your dispersion and distance in consideration I analyzed the 4 posible ways to play the hole, or at least the ones that were listed here. I took the brown grass on the left as fescue were you need to punch out sideways to the fairway and rigth of the car path to be fescue too.  Driver "going for the green"  You have to aim more rigth, to the bunker in order to center your shotzone in between the fescue.  Wood of 240 over the bunkers I already like this one more for you. More room to land between the fescue. Balls in the fescue 11% down from 30% with driver. Improve of score from 4.55 to 4.40. 4 iron 210 yards besides the bunkers.    Also a wide area and your shot zone is better than previous ones. This makes almost the fescue dissapear. You really need to hit a bad one (sometimes shit happens). Because of that and only having 120 yards in this is the best choice so far. Down to 4.32 from 4.40. Finally the 6 Iron 180 yards to avoid all trouble.    Wide area an narrow dispersion for almost been in the fairway all the time. Similar than the previous one but 25 yards farther for the hole to avoid been in the bunkers. Average remains the same, 4.33 to 4.32.  Conclusion is easy. Either your 4iron or 6 iron of the tee are equaly good for you. Glad that you made par!
