Day 50

Worked my priority piece and same routine, but also played around with ball position and did some putting focused on cleaning up my stroke. For ball position I think I tend to play most balls too back in my stance. I'll really need to be on the range to work that further.

Day 276 - Sept 29, 2020

Power was out yesterday, so I'm giving myself that day. I played 13 holes. Today I played 18, albeit from the white tees as the course was soft and Richard plays the whites. I hit two drivers. 😛

Day 51

I decided to mix it up today after going to Golf Galaxy to try out some new irons. I struck the ball terribly but realized I was overswinging as I'm prone to do on a simulator. It got me to thinking about the LSW section about practicing at the edge of your competence. I realized that I had been practicing with very slow swings and not redefining where my edge of competence was. So today I filmed a series of swings starting with what felt like 50% then moved up a little faster and progressed to a series where I was swinging like I did on the simulator. I found that with each step up the speed ladder my swing slowly deteriorated but was still much improved over where I started even at full speed. My conclusion was that I need to start practicing at about 75%-80% in the garage if I'm going to get to the next level. Those swings we're good but seemed to be the point where more flaws started showing up on occasion. If I can't get it mastered at that speed I might need to go to 60% or so and then try back at 75-80%. In reality I would like the 75-80% to be my standard swing and not always feel like I'm going after it hard every time when I'm on the course (which is a tough habit to break for me)

Day 2 - went to the range today, but ended up playing as no one was there.  Very windy. I skipped three holes to get around two old guy foursomes. Played in 2 hours.

Day 277 - Sept 30, 2020

Got in some good work with a 3I, 6I, and 9I earlier today after a lesson.

More of the same, as usual: hands feel like they go away from me, stay in front of me, and go up a little. Half swing. Then go as hard as I can down, with my collarbones.

Windy, Rainy & Cold today.  Putting indoors with my Pelz Putting Tutor.  Missed Monday & Tuesday so I used my 2 missed days.  Needs to work on making time each day.

Day 103.  Quarter and half swings with a gap wedge;  indoors, off a mat, into the net, real balls (except rehearsal swings, of course).  Done throughout the day, taking breaks from work in the adjacent room.
