Day 449 - March 22, 2021

Got my second Pfizer vaccine at 12:45. Played 18 holes, walking with a push cart, 3:30 to 6:30. Played okay. Worked on some things, so there are some weird shots in my round, but I played pretty well.

Day 161: Range again today. I had an early tee time, but there was a frost delay and I didn’t feel like coming back in an hour and a half. Good thing too, as I got a text for my COVID vaccine and scheduled it.

At the range, I first worked on center face contact with a dry erase marker. I used the open face alignment and played for a push launch. Did PW, 8, 7, 5, 5W and Driver with 5 balls each. Then l worked on aim a bit more with different targets.

Day 9.

Trip to the range, time enough for a medium bucket.

10-15 shots at the 50yd barrel to warm up.

Used P,9,7,5 for rest of work.  Focusing on light grip pressure and hitting ball then turf.  And trying to eliminate my ever present flaw of losing all focus and just swinging away.  Seems like I still have 1 or 2 of thse "wtf were you doing" shots per round, would really love to be disciplined enough to clean them up.

Day 7 (3/23/21): Worked on short game today at the range again. Just an abbreviated version of yesterday's wedge work. I wanted to work with the PuttOut training on the practice green to compare my experience from yesterday in the house to real turf.

I was impressed with just how many more quality reps I can get with just 4 foot putts. And using it outside on a putting green allows me to use it on different slopes.

Fairways and Greens,

Frank

Day 76 (23 Mar 21) - worked on full swing tempo - takeaway with a smooth deliberate backswing and transition into downswing.  Contact with the ball really felt good - flight was consistent....

Day 450 - March 23, 2021

Felt fine again today (and turned 43). Played 18 at Whispering Woods. Made a few birdies to knock off some holes on the chart.

Day 463:

Lesson coming up on Thursday, so just did some stuff trying to reinforce the co-priority pieces I have been working on; covering the ball better/recentering & flow, and palmar flexion. Did Covid-19 day 3, 4, 5 drills, and also a "step" drill on AMG I found for recentering. Finished off with about 20 balls with full swing, 8-iron

Day 30.  Spent half an hour working on my priority piece;  real balls, off a mat, into a net, indoors, mostly with a 6-iron.

Also played around (this is golf related) with a new tripod to see if my phone (Pixel 3XL) takes better video than the camera I bought in graduate school to see if that'd be better for evolvr.  I have to admit I don't know.

Day 73 - Blast putting in office x 20 mins. I find that if I take a few days off from this, my rhythm ratio goes from 1.8-1.9 up to 2.0-2.1.  I suppose as long as I am consistent and have a reproducible stroke, that's all that matters, correct?

Day 31.  At the start of my lunch break, I hit ten balls (taking about a minute each) in my indoor golf room, working on my priority pieces.

I'll hit more later today, but I'm posting now since I've already finished enough for the challenge for the day and I don't want to risk forgetting to post since I finally hit the requisite days-in-a-row again! :-)

[I also plan to do Speed Sticks protocol one later]

Day 77 (24 Mar 21) - lag putting between the cat’s play toys.  Set up to putt about 6’  and 10’.  Key was to put through the “mouse trap” and not have the ball go more than 18” past.  Focused on keeping the head in place till the ball left my line of sight.  Good, fun drill....

Day 9.

Got out to walk 9 today.

Really tried to focus on 80% effort for all shots.  Worked for the most part, but the last three holes were through a 3+ club wind and it made me want to muscle through it.  By and large I was happy.  Still a shank and a few fat shots but I'd be shocked if they went away completely.

Day 464:

Did some warmup with COVID-19 day 3, 4, 5 drills, and then some full swings with an 8-iron. Then I did a superspeed workout, but didn't have much vigor for whatever reason. Hit some more balls with an 8-iron afterward, working on recentering/flow and palmar flexion.
