Day 55:

Did 20 balls each with chipping and pitching motions, focusing on solid contact.

Did another 20 balls full swing with 5-iron, working on feel/thought for priority piece.

Hit 5 Almost Golf balls with driver, same deal as 5-iron.

A bit of indoor putting around the office while cooking dinner.

Day 56:

Played 18. Too many poor tee shots to shoot a good score, but scrambled well and approach shots were decent when I was in good position.

Day 584, June 9, 2024

Worked after a pair of lessons today. Pick up/cup, throw. Feels open, feels like it releases.

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️

Day 39 (9 Jun 24) - Got in some ultra tight lies pitches in today with the 54deg wedge - using the short grass practice mat hitting from about 20 yds.  Focus was on how “open” did my stance need to be to deliver the ball consistently online to the target point.  Found that about 11 o’clock (flag/target at noon) worked best.  Also having the ball positioned just off my trail foot big toe.  Also the swing - keeping it as quiet as possible.  All said a solid drill session.

Day 1 again, again:  Hit a few balls at home and at the range and played 9 holes.  Did slightly worse than last time but that’s to be expected since I haven’t hit in a few days.

I may not hit the ball far, but at least I find all of the pretty flowers.

Day 155 - Worked on impact positions with slow swings, ramping up speed. Film some swings, and my weight still isn’t on my lead heel like I’m trying for.

Day 88. Two 10 minute sessions working on full swing technique into the net. Didn’t feel great. Not sure if I’m just off today or if it was because I’m learning to move slightly differently, which would be a good thing.

Day 156 - Full swings, no ball, just working on how my feet work. I feel like I’m falling backwards, away from the ball, when I get into my left heel during the downswing.

    • Gotcha. Don't remember it being that short in Paige episode (the only other one I watched in it's entirety), but to be fair I wasn't paying close attention to the hole lengths. 😜
    • Probably relative to the other courses he has played in the break 50 series. He's done them all from the front tees.
    • So this wasn't a bad watch. For a guy pushing age 80 he strikes the ball well. I mean, if I am doing what he is doing 30 years from now, count me in. Imma pass on that putting stroke though.... wow. That's saying something with my putting skills. Not making fun of it but it's almost like he had to keep the putter from falling out of his hands after impact every time. Not sure if that's a recent thing but it plays out like some neurological condition.   BDC claims 'it's a hard course' to break 50, and then proceed to play putt-putt tees with 320-yard par 5s.. lol. Dood drove almost every par 5 from the tee. Anyway, not exactly the 'greatest round of golf that has ever been played' as expectedly self-advertised by 45, but I've certainly seen worse by far.
    • Long time since I've posted. I've been working through some really hard swing changes and admitting that I needed to nearly start over to actually get better. I shot almost the best 9 hole 44 of my life this morning while actually playing by the rules. I'm trying to legitimize my golf game, keep a real handicap and work past being just a weekend hack to someone who can maybe play actual bogey golf somewhat regularly. Had a couple disastrous double bogeys that kind of blew up my score. Favorite shot was an absolutely pured baby draw 5i about 180yds on a par 3 with a 2 putt for par.
