Day 37: 1/16/2025

Really good practice today. Did a bunch of mirror work early in the AM; before anyone else in the house woke up. Basically working on this.

image.thumb.jpeg.44667c14bb1e7aa14854a58fd65014ae.jpeg.2ee3834e2e11ac1ebc4de43ae455206f.jpeg

Later, on lunch, I had time to swing by the range and work on it some more. Basically what I did was drag over one of the mirrors they have at the range; Do between 1 and 4 slow mo practice swings looking at the mirror focusing on improving the above. After the slow-mo swings I'd then hit a shot at regular speed. I rotated between the PW, 8 iron, 6 iron and 5 wood. Hitting one shot with each club, choosing the club at random. 👍😁👍

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 257 (16 Jan 25)

Weather eased (temps in the high 40’s) - so it was on for my weekly nine hole round with my good friend Mike.  As we play up a set of tees from what I normally play, I went with the five club setup (7w, 6i, 9i,  54° and P):IMG_8625.thumb.jpeg.7a0b788abc273a1be7a66e85c118beba.jpeg

I did not realize till I started that I was playing five brands (XXIO 7w, Edel SMS 6i, Maltby TS1 9i, INDI 54° wedge and Odyssey AI-One Milled putter) - talk about eclectic.  It was a fun session having to think thru the shots and what distance I needed the next shot to play from.  One of the best days I’ve had with overall ball striking.

Day 16 - 45 minutes of range work. Diagnosed and worked on some 100 yd and in wedge direction issues; repeated slowly focusing on hands dropping behind me and feeling the release going to the right. Also worked on full swing weight transfer with good results.

Day 38: 1/17/2025

Got to the range again today. Filmed my first two swings and then tried to work on my priority pieces as best I could between all the interruptions. Everyone seemed to be at the range today and everyone was dang chatty. Got my work in but didn't get a chance to film more swings as I had planned.

Day 258 (17 Jan 25) - it was the Friday men's outing and I was paired with my usual side guy, Tony, plus the greenskeeper and assistante greenskeeper.  It was not a great round - started off with dbl-bogie-dbl - I thought the day would be a day of all 6's.  Overall the dbls eased off as I finished with an 88 (45/43).  Drives were okay, wedge play was off - best part of the day were the approaches. It was a good day, not an outstanding one - had some great recoveries and decent putts.

Oh - should've name it - its a "Golden Retriever by Pro Classic".  I don't think this particular version is even made these days.  There is a very similar one on Amazon sold by Mobile Pro Shops....I know way too much info - but it took the count from five to six brands in the bag yesterday....

Day 184: went to a simulator. Played Portush and did decent. Then worked on the range for a bit. Contact is a bit toward the heel, but not bad.

Day 109 - 2025-01-17

Good 45 minute session today. No real pulls. Flipping the club up in front of me is helpful. Primes the system. Similar to what I was doing at Sand Valley, too.

Day 1: 1/18/25

Practiced prior to round today. Pretty good session. Weight shift practice has me more on my front side and I was hitting my irons about 5 yards longer than normal and it was in the high 40s today.

Today was all about the mirrors. Not much today, but I got at least 5 or 10 minutes in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. And at least 5 or 10 minutes with the putting mirror on my putting mat.

    • This is an awesome breakdown. most of the bigger tournaments usually have one wave with the advantage, Thank you for the breakdown. If it is soft then it will be a lower final score
    • Over the past 15 years, the winning score has ranged from -10 to -20. Mostly around -13.  Here is Thursday and Friday weather. Saturday and Sunday weather. I think the course will play soft. Plenty of sky cover, lots of rain on Thursday. Fairways and greens will probably stay soft throughout the week.  In terms of tee times, I think Thursday morning and Friday afternoon have the biggest advantage. • We have a very difficult but mostly showy course this week. Lets see what they got. This course offers so many chances to get into trouble it is really a mental minefield. I am excited to see who can handle it and who cant. Last year we got a foreshadowing of JJ and Rory, I am excited for this year Who do people have winning? what will the winning score be? I am thinking 12 or 13 under
