Day 15: 5/21/2025

Well, if the weather holds out I'll get to play Wednesday Golf League tonight.

I just went out to the garage to hit some balls into the garage net. I did it to sort of warm up a bit and also to work on my priority pieces. Plus, half the time on league night I'm running right to the first tee from the car. So, I'm hoping this serves as a sort of warm up.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 21 (21 May 25) - Today was an easy session - focused on wedge distancing w/GW and LW (up to 50yds).  Was pleased at the overall distance control.  Focused on the trail hand drill and staying fluid thru the swing.

Day 305: worked on putting bead on my mat. Trying to address the case of the pulls I have on short putts. Hands higher at set up is my key note.

Day 16: 5/22/2025

Had a range session today. Worked on block training (my priority pieces with a 6 iron).
Then I did a fun thing with my driver where I hit 10 balls. The first one I imagined a fairway and that I absolutely had to put it in the fairway. The next ball I hit it as far as I possibly could without worrying about where it goes, then alternated back and forth between hit the fairway and hit it as far as I can.

Lastly I finished with hitting wedges at specific targets. I actually didn't do very well with that today. I had trouble getting within an acceptable target area on each target. If that turns out to be a one off then I won't worry about it. If I continue to struggle hitting wedges close then I'll look into what I'm doing.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 23 (23 May 25) - Played Friday scramble as usual - came away with some good thoughts on the green side of things.  It was a day where I was lacking confidence in the wedge game and played a number of them short, however I went back to some of my readings about playing to the “big” side of the green and saw much better long approaches.

Day 307: about a 1.75 hour practice session. Spent the first bit practicing all types of short game shots. Then went and worked on long game - finding a good feel for swings as well as checking alignment and aim. Need to feel like I’m slightly open for the right aim.

Day 52 - Same work as yesterday, but with the SW. Everything was going really well, then I grabbed my PW and the wheels fell off.

Finished trying to hit the green at Oakmont. No such luck.

So, today I hit balls in the garage net and worked on my priority pieces. I knew I wouldn't get a whole lotta time today because of like a million family obligations.

Day 24 (24 May 25) - Worked with the LW today focused on keeping my head down (eye on the ball through contact).  This is in responsse to what I noticed yesterday that I was not staying in the shot on short wedge pitches.  Hence the drill today was to just "trust the swing mechanics" and "see the ball off".  Practiced to varied distances  - from about 10 yds out to upwards of 40 yds.

    • It feels like Rory blew his load on the 18th at Augusta. Maybe everyone is underestimating how much that took out of him. Watching McGinley whaling in 'Roaddie' for not stopping by to talk to the press was bit of drag. The dude has given so many interviews and so much of himself over the years, he outghta be able to play with house money sometimes. Jeez, leave him the fak alone.
    • Some positives playing in league tonight.  1st) Making the backswing a more lateral shift, and feeling the left leg and torso resist the turn at the top of the swing is helping out a lot. I got to feel an uncomfortable amount of pause in the backswing to set up the downswing.  2) I need to do a bit of more arm stuff better. Still too much draw or pull draws for my liking.  3) Short game is getting sharp. Many tap-ins tonight. I am trying to make the shortest backswing possible for the shot. It really forces me to stay aggressive with the pivot.
    • Day 43 (12 Jun 25) - Return of the net in the backyard as I set it back up in anticipation of some work with the R10 in coming days.  Used it to hit a few iron shots into the net with the 7i before wrapping up the session with the wedges.
    • Shame to see Rory crash on the back nine. Nice to Spieth play well. Looking forward to seeing Brooks collapse…😂
    • Day 255 - 2025-06-12 Played 18 holes. Started to over-do the crap out of my thing for holes 9-15 a bit, then refreshed it and finished out really well.
