Day 256 - 2025-06-13

Good work in before lessons. Used a mirror. The actual moves I need to make are so much smaller than they feel like they should be, which I'm taking to be a good thing.

Day 44 (13 Jun 25) - Friday men’s shootout…played so-so.  A couple of lost ball penalties on the front for a pair of dbl bogies (the only of the day) kept the score up - however had some neat recovery shots especially on the back nine to save par on a couple and bogie on another.  All in all - a good day to make the most of course management…and minimize miscues.

Day 328: night range session. Worked on wrist twist in the downswing. Focused on doing it as well as I could slowly. I hit a lot of pull hooks and some solid straight balls, so that’s good. Video feedback seemed good, but quality wasn’t great because it was bad lighting. Really pleased with how I focused on being slow and specific, using some of the tips from the last Spin Axis pod.

Day 45 (14 Jun 25) - after the rain this afternoon, got outside to work with a soccer ball against the lead hip while making practice swings (purpose - to not sway back, but rather pivot).  After some time in the drill, applied it to work with the GW and making shots in the backyard.

Day 329: a handful of slow swing at foam balls in my backyard. Video looks like I need more work on wrist stuff. That said, kids really enjoyed hitting the balls!

Day 46 (15 Jun 25)- Father’s Day front nine at the request of grandson.  Man the course was busy - so we were in ready golf mode.  Solid day off the tee, had some issues with the short iron approaches, able to make it up with the wedges.  Best of all was watching a 9 yr old kid just have a blast!  Best Father’s Day ever…

Day 330: played the par 3 9 holer with the family. Hit a good amount of left balls, so that’s a positive.

Day 1 - Mirror backswing work. Haven't golfed much in years, but what I worked on at the one TST meetup is my focus (essentially complete lower body overhaul lol). Feel like my feet on the backswing (mainly trail) corkscrew straight down into the ground through the ball of the foot/midfoot. HIP STAYS IN INTERNAL ROTATION. LOAD THE GLUTE. Video soon and the resurrection of my swing thread to come.

Day 2 - Range session with a decent amount of video taken. Excited to be back golfing. Lower body is in a similar place to where it was before TST outing...not doing enough with the lower body. Feel like hands work higher and higher. Perfect practice makes perfect. Pace of how many balls I hit was good, but just swing slower. You aren't ingraining shit swinging 100%.

30 minutes between lessons and helping @DrizZzY for a bit. Got some good feels in. Really don't have to do it as much as I would be likely to do it.

@Grizvok, red text is reserved for those who have reached 30 days. You should be typing in black text until then.

Day 47 (16 Jun 25) - Got in some work with the 6i into the net this morning - focused on the hip drill with soccer ball (rotating not swaying in the backswing) - staying with punchy 1/2 swings.  Moved off the net to wrap up with some low running chips (those needed when going out from under lower hanging branches).

60 minutes on the local school playing fields, trying to discover my former grip,I found it and used a lob wedge with which I was able to group 3 balls pretty near together, very happy to have found my old grip and its give me a lot more confidence so I can go have a round of golf with my brother and his step sons,I have not stepped on a course for 20 years, still I can hit my old yardages and that's great as I'm now 62...everybody have a great day

Not interested in an handicap..

Day 3: Used an alignment stick to work on 1/2 to 3/4 swings exaggerating feels to combat my tendency to take the club too far inside on the backswing and loop it to the outside on the downswing.

    • Day 354: shitty, busy week so far. Only had time for a bit mirror work - working on the same things.
    • IDK, a full turn. That is what it's feeling like. When I shallow the club, it ends where It ends. Should I crank the torso more around?  I'll check a face-on to make sure, but it's not like I am trying to make partial backswings.  The day has finally come, when I am getting comments on not making a long enough backswing. 🤣 too much of what?  Here is my typically routine.... 1) I usually start out just doing position work. The backswing stuff we work on. Turn to A2.5-ish, shallow to A4, pause, arms down to A6. Then, slight pump drill and hit the ball.  2) I do some pause at A4 and arms down and try to hit ball from A4 instead of A6.  3) I do some full swing stuff, trying to blend it all together. Checking video to see if I am actually keeping the club shallow or not. If not, then I go back to trying to train the downswing with the stuff we worked on. I try to blend it all together again, and check video.  What am I missing here? I do the stuff we worked on. I'll keep it at, it's all I can do. Just hope it changes.  Sorry for trying to find a feel that keeps the club shallow..
    • Ha ha.... I'm not sure.  I've actually never watched a LIV event. ... but maybe? 👍👍
