Day 7 - range session. Hit some balls with the trail foot staggered behind me with very little weight/pressure on it. Trying to feel what it's like to get posted on the lead side. The direction of where the pressure surfs is very important (eye opening bit in Wyndham Clark TPI vid) but probably a little less important than the timing of those ground forces.

Hips need to do more (duh). Bring some feel focus here and see what happens.

Hip/ankle mobility exercises at home.

Played 18 at Reserve Run. Backswing stuff is good. Haven't gotten to the downswing stuff. Probably won't by tomorrow, either. 😉

Day 53 (22 Jun 25) - It’s hot and muggy (heat index approaching 100), makes for making the most of taking in some drill work.  Continued work with mid-irons into the net and making consistent contact on club face….battling shifting low point - know part of that is the long term tenderness I’m feeling of late in the lead (left foot) and the body resisting full weight on it…

Day 54 (23 Jun 25) - Accompanied wife and grandson to his golf camp with the plan to play while he did camp and she hung out at the pool.  Plans changed when the course pro said they needed a chipping coach and bunker coach. My friend took the chipping as I said I usually get out in one. Needless to say I got a good 2 hrs of bunker play….was a blast helping kids to work on their sand game (all those hours with the wedges paid off)…great memories made - more tomorrow….IMG_1467.thumb.jpeg.a6ca7de633d2fe3b3c1b96672f9ec493.jpeg7538960602382399974.thumb.jpeg.5ece3aa8ca2bf8a8beaf4413c25dd9be.jpeg

I have my own grip as opposed to the over lapping or the vardon grip, trouble is I cant play the game without it,i sometimes forget it,today I found it (again)and using my lob wedge I was able to hit a good few shots, the wind was up around 20mph,great when its with you but like hitting a brick wall when against you,all in all a good golfing day and I learnt a great deal

Day 9 - setup work and some ultra slow mirror swings while focusing entirely on the hips. Really feel the right hip work higher and higher. Flat turn = no good.

Day 267 - 2025-06-24

Hit the course again. Played 16 holes (we skipped from 15 to 18 as it was getting hot). Did my three-pause swing this time to get started again on the downswing stuff.

Day 55 (24 Jun 25) - day two of jr golf camp and me working with the campers on dealing with getting out of bunkers. Mixed it up a little for them - adding some awkward lies rather than perfect lies.  Wrapped up my day with a quick run down #10 (right beside the practice bunker) and hitting a few approaches just in from 140yds with the 7i, great dispersion all finished in a 10yd circle, distance suffered some as I was gassed (105 heat index) so I added a few up and down wedge shots with the 54.

Day 10 - 15 minutes or so of mirror swings and setup work. Re-watched AMG "Clearing the hips: Pros vs Ams" and trying to nail the general pattern in ultra slow motion. Feel the right hip work higher, yes, but it should be working BACK and AROUND quite a bit more as well (which of course is why I lack rotation). Mike highlights the importance of the right hip quite a bit in the video, so I'm going to try and work on a right hip specific feel.

Hip/ankle mobility stuff. Right ankle inversion seems hardest of all ankle stuff followed by right ankle dorsiflexion.

Day 11 - range session. Will do some more in-depth analysis later in swing thread. Slow down. Better practice = better gains. Found a slightly crappier range to hit at, but it's much closer. Focusing on right hip feels doesn't feel great. Shifted focus to center of pelvis, and things started looking better. Make the pivot feel more centered. Feel the feet are "corkscrewing" and gaining more purchase DOWNWARDS into the turf. I think I made some of my best backswings since I've been back. Weight and pressure forward is the slightly longer term goal, but this pivot needs to be at a place I'm happy with because if it sucks, the other stuff is going to suck.

    • Day 354: shitty, busy week so far. Only had time for a bit mirror work - working on the same things.
    • IDK, a full turn. That is what it's feeling like. When I shallow the club, it ends where It ends. Should I crank the torso more around?  I'll check a face-on to make sure, but it's not like I am trying to make partial backswings.  The day has finally come, when I am getting comments on not making a long enough backswing. 🤣 too much of what?  Here is my typically routine.... 1) I usually start out just doing position work. The backswing stuff we work on. Turn to A2.5-ish, shallow to A4, pause, arms down to A6. Then, slight pump drill and hit the ball.  2) I do some pause at A4 and arms down and try to hit ball from A4 instead of A6.  3) I do some full swing stuff, trying to blend it all together. Checking video to see if I am actually keeping the club shallow or not. If not, then I go back to trying to train the downswing with the stuff we worked on. I try to blend it all together again, and check video.  What am I missing here? I do the stuff we worked on. I'll keep it at, it's all I can do. Just hope it changes.  Sorry for trying to find a feel that keeps the club shallow..
    • Ha ha.... I'm not sure.  I've actually never watched a LIV event. ... but maybe? 👍👍
