Day 47

Played 18 at Southern Pines. Much improved ball striking with my longer clubs (Driver, 3 wood, hybrid). Inconsistent with low to mid irons. Solid full wedges. Horrendous chipping and putting. Only one lost ball off the tee for 2 strokes. No other penalties. Overall I saw progress but did not score well.

Day #8

Practiced driver with impact labels prior to round.  Still tending to crowd the ball.

Day 61

Day 99.  Today should have been a speed sticks day, but I'm playing tomorrow so instead it was the medicine ball drill from LSW.   Indoors, 12lbs, on the mat for some reason.

Day 18 - chip & putted for 30mins, then hit a few 9i, 5W, and driver on the range.

Driver & 5W: A-

9i: C

not sure why I struggled so much at first, but my tempo was too fast...once I figured it out, hit it much better.

Day 48

Back to my normal practice today. Slow swings with a foam ball focusing on eliminating OTT.  Started using a 4i in addition to my 7i hoping to figure out those longer irons which are killing me. Although, to be fair, I didn't really hit even my 7i well when I played yesterday. I was just off a bit on everything. Lots of thin shots with my irons other than my wedges. I feel like I'm close to moving on to other elements of my swing since the shallower swing and feels I use are starting to feel more natural to the point where I'm almost able to not think about them.

Day 100.  Played 18 with a friend.  Five sevens, but no sixes.  Shot a 94.  Six GIR.   I'll do the GG thing later to figure out what's been going on.

Day 290

Played 18 today. Was actually a decent round except for two quadruple bogeys on holes #9 and #16.

Day #9

practiced 50 & 75 yard approach shots at the range w/ TrackMan Range.  These are less than full swings and I need to figure out how much swing I need.  Used Sand Wedge for all shots.

Day 49

Same old routine. Boring but I feel good working on one thing until it sticks.

    • Day 19: Some chipping in the yard for about ten minutes.
    • @dennyjones @bkuehn1952 or any other Michigan area golfers I have 2 vouchers to play Leslie Park in Ann Arbor, which expire on November 1 and for several reason I'm not going to be able to use them If you can use them in the next 10 days they are yours  - send me a PM and I will send them to you  Make my loss your gain
    • Well as long as it is your cc I am good with it. 😜
    • That won't be an issue.  The biggest issue I think would just be basically booking and making sure we have 8 for the Sand Valley days.  As soon as I book it, they will run my CC for all players as well. That is what they required this the this year.  But that will be a month out from actual play. Well I am stuck at home right now with nothing better to do than think about a mid summer trip back out there.
    • Let's just say that the golf was secondary as we got the old foursome back together again. The snowbirds returned this week, and we finally got our normal Wednesday morning foursome together. Among the banter, ribbing, and catching up, I don't think any of us were looking at scoring exceptionally well. For 4-5 handicappers, the front nine scores were 41, 44, 44, 50. We then continued to the back nine. We get to the par 3, 11th hole. The first guy hits it OB, and re-tees. Hits it into the waste area. Second guy gets up there and hits it left of the green. Third guy hits and it's heading straight for the pin. We can see his ball, probably a few inches from the pin. Now it's my turn. I hit a screaming shot that lands just short of the green and bounces toward the pin. hit's the ball near the hole, which deflects mine into the cup for a hole-in-one. My 5th career hole-in-one. The rest of the round was uneventful, carding scores of 83, 83, 83, and 97.
