Day 34.  Hit a half dozen balls as warm-up (indoors, etc, you know by now) and then went out back and did Speed Sticks protocol one.  At this rate, by tax day I'll be back to protocol two!

Got downtown early before some Junior Elite Program stuff, so practiced for 30 minutes. Getting a little bit faster at what I'm trying to do. Set up the noodle.

Day 13

Made it to the range today.  Worked on driver for the most part.  Playing with settings and trying to find a new "baseline".

Also spent some time on shorter pitch shots.  Doesn't feel like a good practice session without at least some short game work.

Day 468:

Played 18. Working with new feel for trail leg/hip in backswing. Played really well, but need to do some work on clubface control to iron out a few right misses.

Day 77 - range. I kept hitting 15 yd “draws” with 9i & Wedge...changing my grip or opening my stance changed little. Hopefully one weird day and not the start of something

Day 455 - March 28, 2021

Hit balls after a relatively long day considering I only had three things to do. 🙂 But three turned into five.

Day 14.

Got to play 18 today.  But holy crap was it COLD!  43* and 20+mph winds.  Buddy and I were just stubborn enough to play because we prepaid a few days ago when the forecast said 55*.  Anyway...

Primary focus was puting driving practice into action. Drove the ball great.  12/14 fir. Glad I spent time on it yesterday.

Day 81 (28 Mar 21) - wedge swings in the backyard today.  Pitching the ball between 10 and 30 yards.  Scattered the balls about 2yds apart and then worked to get them to kick in distance to the cups in the yard. This is something I love doing as I have seen consistent growth in accurate shot placement and the feel of the clubs.

Day 35.  Over the course of three separate sessions, I hit 45 balls today (my indoor golf room).  Focused on the priority pieces:  less extra extension in leg, plus a setup piece.

Day 15.

Back inside today.  And realizing I have a ways to go in terms of fitness ... more sore than I should be from 18holes yesterday.

Decided to stick to putting.  6' putts, probably about 10min or so.  Should likely be doing more, but just overall busy today.   During the putts though one thing I've found that helps me is to reset my feet/stance/alignment each time.  You still end up in the same place, as I know have subconscious markers in my basement and on the matt, but I think having to reset each time helps make for good habits.

Day 469:

Did some warmup with some slow swings working on trail leg/hip backswing priority piece, then a superspeed workout. Depending on my evening schedule, I may do some more work after dinner.

Day 36.  Hit a dozen balls at lunch as warm-up (9 with 6-iron, 3 with 4-hybrid), usual setup, and then went out back to do Speed Sticks protocol one.  Final green set recorded 113 mph;  red stick was at 100, but somehow my blue was only at 104.  I wonder a bit what's going on.

Day 78 - a few swings today videoing for MySwing thread (first one in a while).  Hit 30 or so balls on the range today...thankfully no hooks/big draws that plagued me yesterday.  Then 8yd chips into trash can lid in back yard off my hitting mat. Overall, nice day to enjoy the weather.

    • I’ve almost completed the main game of Hollow Knight. An incredible game that I knew nothing about before playing. It’s a Metroidvania like game and quite extensive. It feels like the Soulsborne of platformers. Somewhat in the vein of the Ori games, but more extensive and challenging. It’s not as difficult as games like Wings og Vi, Boshy and Roah, but takes some precise controlling. You can become a bit OP by collecting and upgrading, which makes it more manageable, not too different from Soulsborne.
    • Day 517: Played 18 today with new concepts/feels from my lesson to address my bad hook misses. Didn’t feel like I was playing particularly great, but scored well (79), and zero hooks. Shots that I didn’t control the club face well were straight fades or slightly pushed fades, all playable. Driver wasn’t good today but only hit it on three holes.
    • Sugar Hill Golf Club - Front Nine 49 Stupid mistakes cost me on three holes. I went bogey, triple (8 on a par 5), bogey, double, bogey, bogey, double, bogey, par.  On both doubles, I couldn't find my ball and had to take a drop.  On the first one, I never heard it hit any trees or anything, but I lost it into the setting sun.  I have no doubt that it was somewhere in the deep Bermuda rough along the right side of the fairway, but I never found it.  The second was well struck (out of the rough because of a topped 3 hybrid) and based on my aim, it should have been okay, but it was nowhere to be found.  The par-five ninth was a series of five almost perfect shots on a difficult, sloping double dogleg hole.
    • Thank you I appreciate that. What made the birdies so nice that all my shots in both of them were great shots. One thing a person of my handicap has a hard time doing is being consistent. When I I'm consistent, even only through one hole or two, it feels great. I shot an 80 on the course which was also very good for my level, and this was after shooting 102 just days before , LOL.
    • First off, is this the oldest topic in the forum? 15 Years, wow. This discussion about the greatest of all time is mute.  All sports have the same point and counterpoints. Most Home-runs, best hitter in baseball, most Super Bowl Rings, on and on. Comparing athletes from different eras are practically impossible. From changes ranging from physicality to equipment, travel, nutrition, playing conditions, shorter courses vs longer courses, stadiums indoor vs outdoor, astroturf, lowering the mounds, 3 point lines, instant replay and more. Best of an “ERA” I could believe in that. Sustainability in a sport is a good measure, but not those that linger.  Having the most Majors?  Most Super Bowl Trophies? Individual sports, Team Sports? Jack vs Tiger?  Take your pick.
