My Member Review

For background, my previous "towel" method has always been to have the normal 12" X 18" towel handing from the accessory clip of my stand bag.    I would never remove it, wash it, or even wet it during a round.   I have played with a lot of people who will do this religiously, but for me, I never felt the need.

When I received the Players Towel I was initially surprised by the size of it.

The quality is very good, the edging is nice and the printing is sharp and rich in color.    I like the waffle pattern as I feel this helps with cleaning of groves and overall ability of the towel to do its job.

It is not a heavy towel so bringing it to the green is not a hassle and it's large enough to place under your putter while chipping.

The only negative I have, and it is not the fault of the towel, is having it in white would not have been my first choice.  Clearly this will show the most dirt and require more frequent washing than i usually do with my grey towel, but that is not a real issue.

$24.99 is on the high side for a golf towel, but this is one that will last for a long time so you are paying a premium for quality, but that is aligned to my personal philosophy in life.  Being able to customize it is a nice touch and I could see getting these as part of a bachelor party, annual weekend trip or milestone birthday golf celebration with buddies.

Here are a few pictures of it in action, as you can see it does show the dirt, but totally understandable given it is white.

    • I always base my weight loss on how my cloths fit. I noticed my size 36 pants/shorts are less snug as they use to be.
    • NBC's announcing to me is just old and stale. I wasn't crazy about Fox but at least they were throwing new spaghetti at the wall. NBC also needs to buy a new drone camera. So many more YT accounts have better drone cameras.
    • Exercise burns less calories than people think it does, so when it comes to losing weight, yea it doesn’t do as much as you’d think. Exercise with a bad diet < good diet with no exercise. However, exercise builds muscle, so it can make you look more fit even if your weight hasn’t necessarily changed much. Body recomposition is going to make you look better than simply losing weight. When people tell me they want to lose weight, I always ask them what their goals are, because if they start hitting the gym hard and putting on muscle, they might not see a change on the scale at all. That can be demotivating if they’re using the wrong criteria to evaluate progress.
    • An interesting article. I will have to look into this more, but I do think that what you eat matters WAY more than how much exercise you get. Why exercise won't help you lose weight and what actually works A new book offers startling findings about human metabolism. The more I read and learn on this stuff, the more I think it is what you eat that matters more. Also, it's really really hard to eat a lot of calories in fresh foods than it is when you get fast food. A big steak may have 800-1000 calories, but it keeps you full way longer than the burger from Wendy's.  I do think exercise is good for overall health biomarkers. There are a few studies done showing that when you adjust for other factors, those who exercise will have less likely chance for heart disease and other health issues. Just being overweight, doesn't mean you will have the same risks as other people who are overweight if you get exercise.
