I wonder who the honorary starters will be in 10 or 15 or 20 years from now. Tiger, Phil, Faldo? Crenshaw, Tiger, Phil?

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Tiger playing on Thursday means Tiger is in a featured group. :-)

I seem to recall that it hasn't always meant that. I don't know that he was in the featured groups in 2015, or maybe 2014… (of course, maybe I'm just remembering 2016 and 2017 when he didn't play, so of course he wasn't in the featured groups).

But I'm almost sure I'm right about people being upset that he wasn't in the featured coverage within the last five years, at least once.

But yeah, I'm glad to be able to watch him Thursday. My lesson (who schedules a lesson for the Masters!?!?!) on Thursday didn't want to move to Wednesday :-), so it is what it is.

I read the reports when they came out and yeah, there was some speculation but this (some were really wild) one seems about as fair and balanced as any of them.

https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2009/12/the-tiger-woods-incident-was-it-domestic-violence/347419/

Something happened to run him off the driveway and to crash his car. Then adjust my financial award closer to 100 million and the POINT I was making is that it was far more about the smashed car and the club she allegedly may have wielded than a simple marital affair.

  1. Again, that's 2009. Why should any of us still care about 2009 much in 2018?
  2. The "story" talked about in this topic is a RECENT story about Tiger possibly having to deal with a girlfriend breaking an NDA, paying her off, cheating on her (not his wife), etc.

I second @turtleback… stop digging, man.

When it results in a wife Fing a player up with a 3 wood and taking 300mil back home to Switzerland, the story kinda gains legs past the sexual content. Just saying that it's not exactly one's "sex life" that's the story.

Apologies in advance to our international friends here but I only hope an American wins this year's tourney.

She's from Sweden, not Switzerland.

But about your hoping an American wins, I may be unusual in this regard, but I don't particularly root for Americans unless it's an American team in the Ryder Cup or something like that.   I generally root for players regardless of where they come from.

I'm going to stick to the topic at hand.

Just some general observations from my previous Masters viewing.

The firmer the greens are the higher the scoring is.

If it is cold typically the scoring is higher.

If the wind blows, the scoring is generally higher.

If there are multiple rain delays, the scoring is at about the all-time Masters average.

Typically if there is only one long delay, the scores are lower.

If the field, has to play more than one round on a day. The scoring is at about the average.

Just things to consider when the 82nd Masters gets underway tomorrow morning.

Sergio is teeing off in the middle. Does he get preference for time or is it just random?

Nothing is random at Augusta!

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? TIGER WOODS' AMATEUR VICTORIES YEAR WIN(S) 1984 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1985 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1988 Boy's 11-12 Junior World Golf Championships   1989 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships   1990 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships, Insurance Youth Golf Classic   1991 U.S. Junior Amateur, Boys 15–17 Junior World Golf Championships, Orange Bowl International Junior Look at some other AJGA Players of the Year. How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
    • Just stumbled onto the article.  Totally random and thought it might be interested to hear other thoughts. maybe I am tired of all the LIV crap and  this just caught my attention.
    • Day 1: Spent some time hitting some balls. Working on my hips and a “soft” and straight trail arm.
    • Slight digression on the way to my point. Back in the day there were a lot of people who said that Tiger won because of “the Tiger effect” where people pushed too hard and made mistakes trying to catch him and fell by the wayside. I thought that was BS. It was just that he was that much better than them. I don’t think anything has changed my mind on that.    The hype about Miles Russell is very limited. I’ve seen nothing about him outside of some fairly hardcore golf websites. But I think that the reason those people are talking about him is because he is very good. Same as Tiger. And like I said he just broke one of Tiger’s records. That gets hardcore golf fans to pay attention.
