I joined a private club this year and although the membership is very reasonable, I'll need to play a number of rounds this year to get the per-round cost down but it is indeed more about the experience. I'll play an immaculately manicured course that will never be over-crowded on the weekends. The men's locker room will be nicely appointed and clean. I can have a locker and keep my clubs there so I can ride my Harley over to play.

That's getting quite a lot for what I'm paying.

As a biker, being able to ride over to the club and just play as your gear is already there is worth $$$ in my eyes.  Def one of the perks of joining a club.

Yeah, I don't spend much on a round.  I like to play with my group.  I could play top notch expensive courses in my area but I really couldn't care less.  I shoot the same everywhere it seems.

The only time I pay a decent amount is when I tag  along my wife's business trips and play resort courses.  Still...I usually have my pro call ahead and get me a deal.

I have opportunities at work to play nice courses in scrambles but I turn them down.  Can't stand the people I work with on a day to day basis never mind having to spend time with them outside of work.

I like to keep the GF's low and have a few fav's that are reasonable $$$'s. Like to splurge once in a while and mix it up as well... so sometimes I'll pay a lil bit more.

Best part and also applies to me: "I have opportunities at work to play nice courses in scrambles but I turn them down.  Can't stand the people I work with on a day to day basis never mind having to spend time with them outside of work."

I have 3 or 4 golf buds I always play with and we are pretty competitive.  That's all I need!  I actually joined a club this year with my son as a junior as he wants to play more so I am looking forward to that and we will get our $$$'s worth for sure!

Im a lil East of Worcester.  Don't ride anymore but when I did I had a lot of bikes.

Last 3 were Ninja Zx7, Ducati 900 SS and FHLT 1340.  Had all 3 at the same time.  Was great as I could pick what kind of ride I want to go on and choose the best bike for the ride.

Ha, that's considered Western MA to folks in Boston. Nice rack of bikes.

Thanks!  It was a sweet trio.  I miss them and have thought of getting another... maybe some day.

I get a lot of location issues so I always say Central Mass as most agree with that.

Sounds like you are "Extreme" Western Ma.

    • However, have you ever considered using small summer houses for such setups? They offer a great solution for creating dedicated practice areas, especially for an affluent audience looking to enhance their outdoor living space.
    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.
