Bravo! Just watched the press announcement. Glad it won't compete with the Saturday and Sunday rounds at ANA Inspiration (yes, I watch as much as I can).

Really, really cool idea. I feel like they should have the tournament earlier (or later) so all 72 holes could be at ANGC. But that's really nitpicky. This event will be really cool, and I love that ANGC is expanding it reach to thing like this and the drive, chip, and putt contest. It's great for golf.

Unfortunately, and so far this is the only negative I can find, the Saturday round at ANGC is only going to be the low 30 (I would presume and ties).

I thought the part where the article mentioned the women's game was the fast growing of the game to be some what eye opening. Not sure if it true or not, but good to here it.

We might be losing another course out here due to lack of revenue.

It is. My daughter helps out the local USGA/LPGA Girl's Golf program.

Well it's a start, more reason to work on their games to get to the final day I guess.

During the Drive, Chip, and Putt telecast they said that girls made up 30% of the field, the highest percentage ever. I know we are getting a lot of girls at our junior lessons at the course. Maybe people have become aware of the hundreds of available golf scholarships for women.

I just read somewhere that all of the women's LPGA tournaments are going to allow 3 amateur women to participate in each tournament.   They will have t qualify of course but that is a great way to grow the game.
