Maine locals - you prefer one over the other?

They both look a little rough around the edges, but that's fine, not expecting anything like perfectly manicured fairways and greens, just looking to get in a quick 9 and take in some pretty views.

Leaning towards Grindstone Neck, seems like the more interesting course.

Bah Habah? I hear it's nice.

Maybe @jsgolfer can help you with courses.

Grindstone neck is the better of the two courses.  I’d rather play Northeast harbor Golf Club or Kebo Valley, but for only 9 either one is fine.

Thanks. I totally missed Northeast Harbor. Nice to have some options if I get more time, thanks!

I was there a couple weeks ago, I play Kebo Valley while I'm there so can only speak to it. Its the 8th oldest course in the US and runs beside Acadia so has some nice views. I don't think its overly demanding, I was a few over my handicap but it was the first week of May, a little early for down east Maine.

Have you been to Acadia before?

Stop in and say hi to Martha Stewart, I designed her fire suppression system.

Can’t speak for @nevets88 but I grew up in Bangor & Brewer, ME. I’ve played Kebo a lot.

Acadia is about my favorite spot in the world. Been going up there almost 40 years, hiked most of the trails in my younger days. Winters are tough and the economy in Maine is at least 20% below the rest of the country. Might look to a summer place when I retire though.

Acadia is one of the most beautiful spots on the planet.  The winters and the economy was why I moved to No. VA. Summer and Fall are spectacular though. I worked on Mt Desert Island for 4 summers, surveying for the Maine DOT, pretty cool place to work.

I was looking at photos and how to view the area guides and was like wait a minute, better add an extra day, looks like a lot of places to see. Last time was in Portland was thinking of doing a quick drop in but then thought the limited time wouldn't do it justice I'll come back, now making good on that. Have a NP pass too so that's taken care of.

Probably going to do that schooner  tour as well as a ferry to one of the islands.

Got lucky, forecast looks like warm and relatively sunny, got a house with a water view, nothing like being on the water's edge.

This is the first week of May, fairways have not come in yet so don't judge on these photos.

The beaver was there but did not cooperate for a photo.

The fourth image is the approach to 17 from about 150 yards, President Taft took a 27 on the hole.

Off topic but this is the "backyard" of the rented house.

Just steps from the back door are the stairs to the little shore.
