Hi,

I recently got the super speed golf system as I was perplexed by my driver to six iron ratio

Driver 100-106 with a ball speed of 146-152 average

6 iron 90-96 with a ball speed of 120-127 average

This is giving me a ratio of 91% as it should be closer to 82 which would give me a driver swing speed of 117?

So my starting Standing speeds with the super speed golf system using a Blue swing speed radar were

Green 119-123

Blue 114-117

Red 108-110

Normal driver no ball 106-108

Are these Numbers normal

Should I be swinging my driver that slow for the numbers I am getting with the sticks??

I am currently using an r15 driver

First of all, I have the super speed sticks and radar too. I also own a gc2.

From my experience, the radar reads higher than what you actually swing. With a high end ball speed of 152 with driver, you definitely don’t swing 117 mph. If your range is 147-152, you swing about 102-105 I can almost guarantee. I’m not much faster myself, and your numbers are close to mine with driver and 6i both. You probably don’t swing 6i as fast as you think either. You might be a bit steep on the irons leading to some trap/pull draws perhaps that inflate the ball speed on the irons. I have been doing that myself and I am usually around 123-126 mph with my 6i- carry of about 175-180. The super speed and radar are great tools to measure your progress with the sticks, but just keep in mind that they do tend to read high, but they will usually consistently read high so you can use them to gauge progress over time. To measure your progress with a golf ball, look at improvements in ball speed and clubhead speed with a launch monitor. (I don’t have hmt with my gc2 but I can get on a local trackman sometimes to run them in tandem for club data).

Hi Thanks for the reply

I got my 6 iron speed measured on a Flightscope and I was consistently measuring around 94 with 127 ball speed hitting high fades carrying about 180. Unfortunately, I did not have my driver that day.

I bought a swing caddy within two weeks and the numbers were the same for the 6 iron but the driver seemed way down in terms of ratio.

Just as a comparison in this the video below he is swinging the green 122 and driver 113. I am the same with the green but 101-105 hitting a normal driver on the blue meter with a ball. Shouldn't i be in the same ballpark in terms of the ratios hes getting on the radar?

I find the swingweight on the r15 very heavy compared to my irons, could this be the problem as i feel i have to wait to swing the club from the top (Feels hefty)

127 ball speed

That’s not what you said earlier. You gave a range of 7 mph up to 127. So which is it?

and no. Not necessarily. People are different and so are deliveries. Get a video up and get on a reliable launch monitor.

And like I said, if your top ball speed range with driver is only 152, (ranged down to 146 even as you said) you’re not swinging as fast as you think.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I gave the range thats roughly where it was going from 120-127 depending on strike (I hit 127 a good few times), My swing speed wasn't the same on every shot either hence the range. I know how fast i am swinging with the driver but i just find it odd i cant even reach 110 as a 91% ratio is very high. As i said i find the swingweight of the driver very heavy could that be effecting the efficiency of my swing speed?

Maybe. Try a lighter driver. It won’t make much of a difference though. I mean we’re talking grams here. A lighter driver isn’t going to take you from 102-105 clubspeed to 110 plus. That takes a lot of training and even then, you may not get there. But as I said, start a swing thread and post video. Include accurate launch monitor data as well.

I might just bite the bullet and get a lesson. A pro might be able to tell whats going on. I am probably hanging back to hit up, casting and too much tension in the grip from the swingweight. Thanks for the help
