He just took a double bogey after missing a short birdie putt on the hole before.  Saw some stats earlier that he's top 10 in strokes gained tee-to-green, but his putter has been the main thing letting him down.  Hopefully the putter switch helps.

Yeah he seems to have been going backwards since That back 9 of the third round of the Memorial. Putter is severely off right now and game hurting too.

Even par and 48th on a day when the leaders shoot 63 (-7)? He's gonna need a great round tomorrow and the next two days to be solid to get a lot of OWGR points. This tournament isn't, relative to others, super stacked.

So I don’t have the stats in front of me, but I’m curious where Tiger ranks on first round scoring avg. because I feel like it’s not that good. It seems like he’s been getting off to slow starts in all his tournaments this year and playing catch up.

He ranks 162nd on first round scoring average (71.8).

Wow I knew it was bad. Didn’t think it was that bad. I think that in a nutshell sums up his season. He’s been getting off to such slow starts that he’s making it so difficult to climb back into a tournament. Sometimes he does but he just can’t put together a full and stellar weekend, as seen at Valspar, Bay Hill and Memorial. This week smells like Memorial so far where he’s startng to climb back into it after a tough start but can he keep it going for two more full days?

Yeah. I’m not a big Hank Haney fan but his ‘avoid 3 putts, penalties and get up and down...or whatever is really key for Tiger of late. I’m tired of the big numbers (db or worse) and the wasted birdie opportunities. So far Tiger has lost 26 strokes on DB’s alone. 26! He’s gotta stop the nonsense. I tell ya what...I really wish he’d give Butch a call. I can’t imagine anything bad coming out of it.

Good round today. Just wish he’d open like that or hell...-3...put him -8 going into weekend. But still..the big picture is good. On the leaderboard and still in his first real season of his comeback....pretty remarkable.
