We'll find out the first part tomorrow.  If the first part is accurate, the second part obviously is too.

I would have liked him to have edged out Zach Johnson, but we can't all get everything we want.

Proof OWGR is broken: Tiger Woods (six top 12s in last 10 starts) is going to miss the final stop at Firestone while Satoshi Kodaira (outside Harbour Town W, zero top-15s in 12 starts) tees it up.

Not the WGR's fault.  It's a two-year window, and Tiger was 600th or something until this year.

To avoid situations like this, the WGC's should include players who finished in the top 10 in the current year's majors.  Most of them are probably in anyway, so it would only add one or two players to the field.

Congrats to Molinari for a well played final round. I like majors that end like this. Low scores in relation to overall par, and lots of golfers in the mix right up to the 72nd hole.

And the europeans say WE are bad fans when it comes to ettiquette

I haven't watched the coverage, but are you damning them all from one guys actions?

I've always liked Molinari, happy to see him win when it wasn't to be Tiger's day. He played a great bogey - free round. Tough to get back from double and bogey for Tiger, both mentally and in shots.

Some tough decisions going to have to be made in regards to the Ryder Cup team. I'm not sure how today's results impact the standings, but not counting today, I would imagine Tiger will be a Captain's pick and Schauffele probably a captain's pick. I would also think Webb Simpson would be a pick. That leaves one pick between Phil, Kuchar, Kisner, Cantlay, Finau, Zach Johnson just to name a few.

By the way, all 3 majors this year have been amazing. Lots of drama in all 3 with pretty star-packed leaderboards. Feels like each one has gotten better. Pressure on the PGA to make it 4-for-4.

Congrats to Molinari, who is in tremendous form.

Happy to see a European win ahead of the Ryder Cup, and it's also nice to see an end of the recent US domination of the majors.

Lots of points for Rose, and he will be snapping at DJ's heels for OWGR #1 👍

Yeah, I was just looking at the points list.  It includes earnings from majors and WGCs in 2017, so I don't think Tiger can crack the top ten unless he wins both the WGC and the PGA.  Which is no longer out of the question, if his upward performance trend continues.😁

I doubt he needs to win both to make the list, winning the PGA (and some respectable finishes elsewhere) would probably put him there given it's double points, though he would need to win it. That , or a string of very, very good finishes. Realistically, it's unlikely he makes the main list. I hope though that he makes the top 12, so that, should he be a captains pick, there can be no argument he isn't there on merit.

That one-hit wonder that I didn't want winning ----hated it when Shaun Micheel won the PGA.  Rather see the generations best win the big ones and not the one (Paul Lawrie) that you won't hear from again......

8 time winner and 2 time Ryder Cup player, including a spanking of Snedeker at Medina. Paul Lawrie was no Ben Curtis.

Molinari playing spoiler to...pretty much every other story line which would be better. Bummer

He has been the best player in the world for the past 2 months. It's a great story. His putting today was fantastic (as well as his tee to green game).

I'm extremely disappointed in Tiger....to be that conservative off the tee and then have it backfire even more? If you're going to lay up then you HAVE TO HIT THE MOTHEREFFING FAIRWAY!!!!!!!

It's times like this that I say he needs more of Rory's "eff it, I'm hitting driver" mentality.

SMDH. Ugh.

    • I did not realize that, I was thinking a more traditional golf club.
    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
