Hit my hybrid way better than my irons

Hi, here are two images (probably not really helpful to you). Unfortunately there is no written part on the hybrid shaft.

Hmm... I would interpret "men's flex" as probably akin to regular (not that regular is uniform across manufacturers).  There was a trend for a while of trying to make it so that men with fragile masculinity wouldn't feel bad playing R-flex (which is better for many of their games).  This isn't why I think you have them, just why there's an irregular term on it.  I hope it doesn't come across that way when I say that.

I wonder if your hitting them better is a function, in part, of better shaft flex.

I still have the matching irons of that Wilson set, however I bought the Ping clubs 4 months because I was kind of not happy with them.. I guess I can take the Wilson PW on the range as well and compare it. From just doing practice swings in my office, they feel very similar to the Ping's..

I would also suggest

- hit 3w, hybrids full

- irons practice full, 3/4, half shots

This helped me in my game. Plus always write down the distances

My guess is you don’t have the swing speed for steel shaft irons. As far as hitting a hybrid like an iron, everyone is different. I hit my 3 hydrid similar to my 3 wood just more towards the middle of my stance and carry it about 220-230 yards. Hit my pitching wedge about 145yds and I have steel shafts as well. You should go get fitted at a pga stour, not dicks with guys who know what they are doing.

I agree about Dick's and will just say my attempt at their looking at my stroke was way off from what my pro told me and was based on suggesting to me their featured clubs of that week.

I took have made, at my age, the change from true temper steel to graphite with the main shift to senior. I never had hit my long irons well in the past.  After being a non player for a fairly long time, I moved into hybrids and now play 4h, 5h, 7h.  I hit straighter and longer with them. It helped that the transition to them was not a direct change.  So learning how to play them was a totally new experience.  The only irons I have now are 6-9 plus wedges and they, along with the hybrids are a good combination for any post tee -  to the green situation I need to deal with.  The problems I now have are owner/operator.  But I wonder where my game would be now if I had started with them.

Good fitting helped as well.

If it makes you feel better, I'm about the same skill level as you and I have similar issues, with a caveat.  Sometimes I switch off and my irons are better, and sometimes the hybrid.  But I rarely/never hit both well at the same time.
