What is your driver loft?

Spinny is pretty obvious actually. @1badbadger shows a plot in this thread of an over spinny drive versus a normal one.

Yes, spin is bad unless you have a lower swing speed where you’d need it to keep the ball up in the air.

I used to like seeing drives go 140 feet up in the air, until I realized that was bad too.

Yes, I definitely advocate it.  My driver is my first new-as-in-new driver purchase and also my first one I got fit for other than "hit a few and see if one feels better."  I hit it well for a while, was in a lull (along with some bad other shots, so it wasn't the driver shot).  When I went in to get fit for my 4-wood, I mentioned my driver issues to the Titleist (same brand as my driver) fitter.  He suggested I bring in my driver, so I went to my car to get it.  I figured, let's see if my specs have changed, maybe I need to make a change.  We tried a bit, but he ultimately said that the only change he'd make is my SureFit setting.  He switched it and I've had five rounds since and all of them were good driving rounds (I think I had handicap-level-or-better strokes gained/lost driving in all five).

So for those reading this thread wondering what their driver loft should be, go get fitted.  OEMs often do it for free anyway.

9 with a stiff shaft.  That is the stated loft on the club, I can go up a couple if need be. I am probably at the minimum for the stiff shaft, but I like the shaft (PX Even Flow Blue) and have it in my driver, 3 wood, and hybrid.

I do have the face closed a degree, so I understand that adds a smidge of loft

I currently play a Stiff Taylor Made R5 with 9.5* of loft.  When I first got it and was playing regularly, distance was not an issue as I got the launch angle to get at least 250 yards and edging towards 280 to 300.  My furthest were a bit over 300.  However, I haven't played regularly of late and now I kinda struggle to connect it well.  Prior to this had a Regular Cleveland Hi-Bore with 10.5* of loft.  That is probably ideal for me if I play occasionally.  Additional loft will probably suit most golfers just because as we lose clubhead speed the loft compensates and affords us distance

10.5 degrees. I have a Taylormade SLDR driver and if I adjust it down to 9 deg I seem to hook my drives more even though I have the weight adjustment set as far to a fade as possible. Compared to some older drivers I've had I have to be careful not to end up too far left.

Mine is a 10.5 adjusted to 9.5.  I'd like to get properly fitted, but from messing around with my loft, I'm pretty sure 10.5 is no good for me. seems like way too much spin when I go 10.5 though I'd be curious to see what the numbers would actually show with higher or lower lofts. Was thinking of treating myself to a driver fitting at the end of the season

I have a mid swing speed of 95-104 mph and a driver loft between 10-11.5 degrees.

That’s quite a range for decent swings, does it change day to day and you adjust the loft according to how fast you are swinging any given day?

I've wondered if I need a stiff flex shaft, but for the time being I'm more focused on becoming a better golfer than what my shaft is.

Well, theoretically your equipment might be hurting your ability to become a better golfer... but high loft regular flex is probably not wrong for the vast majority of 25 handicappers.  If you were using a 7.5 degree X-flex we'd tell you to be very sure that's right for you before proceeding.
