I'd be happy with Bryson, Tiger, Xander, Finau and Phil as captains picks.

Of course for that to happen someone has to get hurt, bad enough to have to drop - broken arm/leg.
I'm not saying I wouldn't be disappointed if Webb somehow had to WD from the team; I just saying wouldn't be disappointed if Webb had to be replaced.

Looks like Bryson and Finau deserve the last two spots. Glad to see Phil showing signs of life and I hope it continues for him all the way to Paris.

There are four spots remaining.

Tiger will get one of them.

Some interesting food for thought for the Ryder cup teams - Dechambeau should now be a certainty (if he wasn't already) for the USA, while Finau has very much strengthened his case. Wise getting a top 5 finish might lead to Furick keeping an eye on him during the rest of playoffs.

Over here, Pepperell didn't help in his chances with an average performance in a weak field. Could Harrington make a very late for himself with some good performances? It would need to be a wildcard. But no big moves, and with a week to go I'd only expect Poulter to force his way into automatic places now.

I like those four also, Bryson, Tony, Tiger, Phil.

I'm having a harder time deciding the best for the Euro team....

Grillo is an Argentine, I'd have him on board alright, but not sure if the rules would allow!!

Man, as an American it always makes me cringe when my fellow Americans start commenting on geography.

What? Argentinia is a continent, dude!!!

In France.

Euros - if you think it's annoying from afar, you should try living amongst them.

There are 3 spots left.  Tiger locked 13th spot at the PGA, if not well before.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm looking forwards to seeing how Brooks Koepka plays in the Ryder Cup. He seems to be a player who has excelled largely under the radar (compared to players of comparable talent) since he doesn't seem to quite have the personality of other big names like Rickie, Tiger, Phil, DJ, or Reed. He also hasn't made a Ryder Cup appearance before so it will be interesting to see if he thrives in the VERY different atmosphere it has compared to almost every other tournament.

Yeah, I always get it mixed up with Nambia.  I think they're both near the Cape of Good Horn.

And now I'll just fade into Bolivian.

Everyone here on this side of the pond is really HOPING that Woods DOES get picked. It will be good for the Europeans. Woods isn't a team player with a very poor Ryder Cup doubles record. 9 wins versus 16 loses and that was when he was on the top of his game.

You're not going to be very popular on here i'm guessing.

I'd hope you guys are open for more than just one point of view ... there's a whole world there outside of the USA 😜

Not quite what he means - you can say what you like about the rest of the US team, but less than positive statements about Tiger Woods on here are normally met with a flurry of derision.

On another note,  I hope Bjorn is brave enough to go for Matt Wallace - terrific performance coming up with the win today, and 3 wins for the year ought to be enough given he's showing some form at the right time.

Gettin, I live in Ohio, the 17th great state of the United States, and I feel exactly the same way! Tiger's Ryder Cup record is hardly stellar, In fact, it sucks!

And if DeChanbeau isn't picked for the team, it should be a felony!

How'd that work out?

Tiger's teammates have historically tried to do too much, making them poor partners.

Tiger's not played all that poorly in the Ryder Cup. His record is, because of that, somewhat misleading.

But hey, think what you want, man.

    • I guess I’m not really smart enough for this topic…Im a retired plumber …my kids now run the company…I bought the company from my dad, the plumber…I leanred early in life that plumbers always work, and that plumbers live in nice houses…I pay my bills - all of them…bought a nice house in the San Fernando Valley area of LA in 1990 for about 300K…today, thru no skill of my own, they say thru comps on my street it’s worth 3 million…should any next buyer have that price “eliminated” because the LA housing market is insane?  We were commercial plumbers - large housing tracts and big buildings…in this line, you meet a lot of contractors…more than one guy I know who couldn’t go to a traditional bank borrowed money from those in the cement business to get his 75K cement truck.  Do you know who runs the cement business in Los Angeles?  The way I see it, these students are lucky they borrowed from banks…Lou down at the union hall and his buddies in the trades that sometimes make these loans don’t do “loan forgiveness…” not sure why just being a stand up person and paying your bills is such a controversial topic…that’s it - im back to the golf talk
    • Got my booster today.  Did not, and do not, feel a thing.  Needles must be thinner than they were when I was a kid.  Either that or I am just older and less sensitive.  Be safe folks.
    • Went four five.  Confidence is an emergent quality for me.
    • I find that “confidence” only really comes into play in my game on the greens…I have become very good at knowing what shots I can hit and ones I cannot tee to green…high fade that starts over trouble and catches the left edge of the green leaving an uphill birdie putt?  Never could, never will…but hitting a punch shot that either catches the front of the green no matter where the pin is or at worst leaves a straightforward chip?  I can hit that shot all day, everyday… But when putting, every now and then the line and speed come together, and when happens on the first or second hole, that breeds great confidence with the flat stick and a great score is coming…opposite true as well…early three jacks just makes everything on the green a crapshoot… my 2 cents, for whatever it’s worth…
    • I chose 8.  Of course one needs the ability and skill to play well, in any sport.  Being confident also does have a big impact on results.  Michael Jordan, Tiger and a slew of others wouldn’t have won as much as they did without confidence.
