It’s not just jacking the lofts. New technology has changed the MOI, perimeter weighting, etc and in doing so change the dynamics ( launch angle for example) so they have to make a 7i with less loft to make it still act like a 7i as far as expected spin rate and ball flight ( height). But yes, knowing your distances with your clubs is the real focus without regard to the number in the club.
Hello all. Im currently gaming a set of ping G irons i hit the 7 iron 140-150. Im thinking about getting a new set (not because I need them) I will get fit for whatever I get. My question is with the ping G 710s in power spec can I expect them to be a club stronger say a 7 iron the same as my current 6 iron? My thinking is with the jacking of lofts the number at the bottom of the club doesn't matter what matters is how far you hit the ball. Am I on the right track or is there more nuances that I dont understand?
But… you don't, because then you keep arguing and ignoring the facts:
The USGA/R&A have nothing to do with this, and the PGA Tour had nothing to do with Phil Mickelson.
He was penalized. She was penalized.
You have no proof that they intended to actually "cheat." None.
Yeah, cuz that's apples to apples.
That's a good analogy.
You're assuming intent here despite absolutely no evidence to support that.
