72-73-72 this weekend at Summerlin.

I know I missed this a few months ago but still had to comment... You have to qualify as the worst four-man scramble team in the history of golf. Six under in a big cup tournament, and your best second-shot on a par five was still 127 yards out?    😱      

Haw! My buddy was a sucker and bought one of those. After trying unsuccessfully to use it for half a season, he left it in the open bed of a pickup truck as we were leaving the course!  And some outfit recently was advertising some new putter weighting or shafting idea, and for the life of me I can't remember who it was. It was supposed to "redistribute" the weight in the putter. I found a couple of them in a local golf shop and tried them. I didn't like them at all. Someone else mentioned re-bar. That's what these putters felt like, a length of re-bar in your hands! No feel at all! 

I've heard of them, but never saw one advertised around here. For me, a regular "scramble" is usually odd enough, but it might be fun. I'm usually a pretty good chipper. so running them at an oversized hole might seem easy. Then it might not be, and then I'd really feel like crap!

When this thread first appeared, I logged onto the Stonelick Hills website and did the 18 hole flyover. The course does look spectacular!  As for my earlier comment about Eaglesticks, it may have been prompted by the conditions we encountered when playing there. We were invited to join a big group of guys who had booked an extended, 3 day, stay and play weekend. Skins game every day, and we won money every day! Can't imagine why. Anyway, the area was in a drought, and it seems like they had neglected to water the course properly. The course was baked, and hard as a rock! Then, while we were there, they decided to start dumping tons of water on the place! This turned the dust into mud, and we found it ridiculous to play golf on a blazing hot, 95* afternoon and have drives plugging in the fairways! Plus dodging sprinklers while trying to play shots.So my outlook may be a bit jaundiced.
