I have bought a lot of golf equipment off ebay, including 3 Camerons. You do have to be diligent in doing your research, but the legit sellers far outweigh the scammers. Also, ebay is very committed to the cause and will agressively go after suspect sellers.

However; the more I think about it, none of the putters I bought have worked like I had hoped. Maybe mine are all fakes...

People get ripped off and other say "That's why I don't buy stuff from ebay!"

You should, or you're always getting ripped off. For instance, I bought my r7 draw driver for $80 less on ebay -- brand new.

You just have to be VERY careful when spending that kind of money. MAKE SURE they have a "store", and have 99.5%+ feedback rating with atleast 1,000+ feedbacks. And check the pictures VERY closely.

Ebay is risky, but I usually only buy from 1 or 2 sellers that I have bought from before. I don't plan to buy anything soon anyways.

Btw: both items that you are showing examples of are removed.

There was a guy doing a scam with the weights for the R7 driver. I bought them, he took my money and never sent my weights. Lucky for me EBay contacted me a couple of days after I won the auction and let me know about the guy and worked on getting me a refund. All in all, it was a lot of work just to save a few bucks.

Reading your post reminded me that I had to buy some weights for my r7 fairway, I went through the list and couldnt find much, but I saw a seller selling one (1) weight cartridge for $8.00 What does 1 weight cartridge mean? Is that only 1 weight? or 2?

I would assume one weight. Taylormade sells the weights in a whole kit or individually for 14 bucks a pop. I wont try EBay again, but if you find a good deal on them let me know.

No thats a good price. I think your better off just buying the whole kit for 60 bucks. Plus it gives you something new to play around with.

There is a selling group called 3ballsauctions.com, Inc. or something like that. They're an organization who have an agreement with Ebay to sell some of their stuff on there. I've only bought one club, but if I ever do it again it will only be with them or another similar company I found.

Why? Because first off - it's not just one person - it's an organization. Two - they provide you with UPS tracking (meaning if something were wrong with the purchase or they weren't sending it, UPS will have record that it never shipped...I checked it on the UPS website and tracked it last night - so you can make sure UPS has record that they have a valid shipment before paying). And finally - they make you go a slightly different route when paying. They put you through their secure checking system - so that they and another party of record of your payment (usually through paypal). It's not giving a credit card or an e-mail, just a record that says you paid. So - if they were to scam you or something was wrong with the product, you can easily get a refund. They also communicate well and even gave a phone number if a person would have any pressing questions that needed answered asap.

I got a barely used Titleist 907D1 10.5* driver with an Aldila shaft for 150 bucks.

    • I think I like this hole.  It is a clear "Risk-Reward" choice.  Since most of the shots in your cone cleared the bunkers I would say they are a minor risk and not a big issue.  Playing the aggressive line may give you 70ish yards in from what looks to be playable rough while conservative play is 120ish from fairway.  I know you said 70 vs 120 is minor for you but how does the approach angle in impact your results?  I figure both strategies are playing for Birdie since holing out from either is mostly luck. Looking at your proximity hole I think it says @ 50 feet when hitting from the fairway from 100-150 and 40 feet if hitting 50-100 from the rough.  Neither of those is an easy birdie putt.   I like the approach angle from the rough between the bunkers & the adjacent tees over the angle from @ 120 in the fairway but I really do not like the idea of hitting onto the adjacent tee boxes and that may impact my confidence with making the shot.  Also, too far left may be a worse approach angle then from the fairway short of the bunkers. For me this may come down to how confident do I feel when I reach that tee box.  If I am stroking it well off the tee leading up to the hole I would try for over the bunkers and the better angle in but if I am struggling that day I would likely opt for the fairway to take more bad stuff out of play.
